I was asked through a YouTube comment the difference between Corrupted!Nightmare & Shattered!Dream’s goals, and my response holds quite a bit of information & lore, so I’ll share it here for you all as well :

Creator, I need to know, I can’t tell if swap is still good or not. Ik he is corrupted and all, but is he the same just oblivious of the evil he is doing? Or is he now insane?

Although the details will be shared through & after episode 3 is posted, here’s what I’ll say for now:

Is he entirely oblivious to the “evil” he’s helping cause?

No.

Is he now insane?

Yesn’t.

Deep down does he still mean well?

Yes.

How did the corruption cause creativity to stop flowing from the doodle sphere? Since it’s the creators creations/creativity that makes up the paint in Ink’s vials. And would that mean Aus aren’t being created anymore in the fallenverse muiltiverse?

So, I’ll answer this one myself since I feel the characters themselves would be unable to go into equal depth.

Of course, we know Dream & Nightmare touched Dream’s soul simultaneously, creating unstable power that resulted in an outburst of energy that reached across the multiverse. This outburst contained both positivity & negativity, however, since Dream was the weaker between the two in the moment, his aura emitted less, meaning the outburst’s energy was a tad more negative than positive, subsequently giving it the corruption effect to inflict on whatever paths it crossed with.

As can be seen, the doodle sphere was hit, making it so whatever enters the doodle sphere becomes corrupted in some way or another. This includes aus, meaning yes, to answer your questions, creativity technically continues to flow, as well as aus can still be created. But, whether it be major or minor, something will be changed upon entering the doodle sphere.

For an au, maybe it’s one random monster in the ruins that’s slightly shifted, or maybe the au falls under havoc and mayhem. There’s really no certainty to what exactly the corruption can cause given it’s basically just the unstable energy that exploded from the previously mentioned outburst.

As for Ink’s vials, the paint from his vials attempting to flow into the doodle sphere from the creators is corrupted into the black tar that can be seen leaking from above in episode 2 (minute 10:37). This has no effect on Ink if he is to consumes it, not to mention the taste is terrible.

And in case anyone wonders, no, this tar is not what makes up Ink’s new vials of negativity. Shattered is the only one who creates and provides those vials for Ink.
