        “it’s a shame, isn’t it. how he died so YOUNG.” maes says from behind edward elric, who is currently standing at his GRAVE. he approaches him, pulling off his glasses. truth be told, maes didn’t die. he almost did, and it was decided that they would pretend he succumbed to his wounds for the safety of his family. it took him a long time to HEAL. . . but he’s okay now. “i wouldn’t want to be him.” he chuckles a little bit before sliding his glasses back on, turning his attention to ed.

  The sound was merciless - a single, droning tap tap tap against a hardwood surface, the material hugging the soldier’s fingertip doing nothing to soften the noise - he was silent as the grave, a dark gaze boring a hole into the wall behind the partially metallic youth, but only for a moment longer.

        That was probably long enough, to ensure the maximum intimidation factor.    

               “Fullmetal, I called you here today for a reason, you know, so look sharp.”

It wasn’t as though he had any intention of treating the pint-sized alchemist as a child, but in the art of training hounds, one had to get their bluff in once or twice to ensure the pup knew who had the bigger fangs.
