As a part of “mobile methods” project, we are seeking to explore the techniques and attitudes toward “set ups (bonds)” and “withdrawals (separations),” that occur in our day-to-day activities. Based on our ethnographic/qualitative research on mobile businesses (e.g., street performers, street musicians, moving stalls, food trucks, etc.), we attempt to speculate upon the ways in which we organize our communication and place-making activities. We separate to meet again. We alternate “hello” and “goodbye” repeatedly. It creates a moment at which we become aware that we are “always on the move.” We will display four studies we conducted this semester at "Fieldworks XII" (BUKATSUDO, Yokohama), from February 6 through 8, 2016.
