This morning, I scanned the headlines then deleted my Google News Alert, emptied my Tumblr messages, listened to Calvin’s car test at least ten times, & then listened to R4TW from start to finish. Now...

Top Dance/Electronic Albums ranks the most popular dance/electronic albums of the week, as compiled by Nielsen Music, based on multi-metric consumption (blending traditional album sales, track equivalent albums, and streaming equivalent albums).
FWB V1 is #1 again!
After 12 weeks on the Billboard chart & w/o any promo whatsoever, FWB has floated to the top like cream. There is no excuse if the Grammy’s don’t nominate Calvin’s album in the Electronica/Dance category.
Oh and I am an extremely pleased & happy Calvin Harris fan. This is an album! Not a collection of random tracks. There’s continuity of sound, recurrent themes, a holistic vibe from beginning to end, & drops of wry typically Calvin humor when you least expect them. Pizza anyone? LOL! I outright LOVE every track! Someone on Twitter said yesterday that Calvin had released all the best songs as singles & the rest of the album would be disappointing. That person was so very wrong. There isn’t a weak track on this album. Each & every tune is glorious in different ways.
Calvin Harris recruits friends Katy Perry, Ariana Grande and Frank Ocean for his fifth studio album Funk Wav Bounces Vol.1.
Calvin Harris, “Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1” (Columbia Records)
“The 10-track “Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1” is a slick triumph for Harris, who has brought 21 of his superstar friends along to make a CD as cool as a Popsicle and as sticky as a pool-side cocktail. “Release, let go, and have a good time,” is a lyric that sums up the record.

“An album with so many guests would presumably topple over, but somehow Harris weaves all the voices, styles and grooves into a coherent, breezy hip-hop and EDM tapestry. It recalls Moby’s 1999 monster hit-collection “Play” — the last time an insular techno techie became a bona fide music god.”
The Scottish producer has also revealed the tracklist for his upcoming album Funk Wav Bounce Vol. 1.
Great review of video but more importantly check out the last paragraph:
Did you know Calvin holds the record for the album to feature more Top 10 hits than any other? His third album 18 Months boasts a massive nine Top 10 bangers, beating other successful albums from the likes of Michael Jackson, David Guetta and Lady Gaga.
They are going to act like that whole Ed thing didn’t happen. LOL!
So nice that he rolled out full audio of the album’s tracks on YouTube for the poor folks who can’t afford or don’t have access to the songs otherwise. And Billboard does not count YouTube views in their stats now.
The thing I want most before June 30th is Calvin on the cover of Rolling Stone w/ an interview about how he pulled together the features on “The Album of the Summer”.
