Today marks one year since this goober's last surgery!

One year ago, his carpus looked Like That, he could walk less than one hundred feet, and his future was still unclear. He couldn't be left alone for more than ten minutes and had a lot of body boundaries that he was very anxious about.

Today, he's over at the carpus instead of hyperextended (I'll take it), he can hike five miles very comfortably, and he's at no higher risk than any other tripod. It took a lot of PT, massage, and proprioception training, but we got there. He still gets regular massage and joint supplements and I imagine he will need pain management medication earlier than other dogs, but he's having a great time. He also can be left alone for eight hours at a time, allows me to kiss him on the head without growling at me lol, and allows all basic handling, blood draws, toenail trims etc without restraint. Every morning he cries until he gets his tummy rub+massage. This morning we walked a mile on a hip lead with only vocal commands!

He's not the dog I thought I would get, but he has worked out so perfectly. Love this little weirdo.
