U-SIK AND MELLOW’S GYURI HOLDS VLIVE DEBUTING DUET ‘SIMPLE LOVE’
On December 17th, U-SIK and girl group member Gyuri debuted their new duet title song ‘Simple Love’ along with a MV. It was stated all proceeds earned will be donated to Pohang city’s earthquake victims and Korean Animal Theme Park.

What do you like about working with each other?
U-SIK: The nice relationship Gyuri and I, like brother and sister, made the creation of the song be less stressful and more like a time to work, hard play hard. I think I enjoyed that the most.
Gyuri: Oppa is very determined succeed in his work. Even when circumstances appear to be grim. I think that’s why it was so easy to work with him. His energy vibrates the whole room. It’s hard to not feed off it.
What was the most challenging part of making the song?
U-SIK: Getting to decide on the same thing. Our age difference might not be too much, but we still have very different likes. It was very difficult to come up with a finished song that we both enjoyed.
Gyuri: I wanted the song to always stay fresh, no matter how many times you listen to it. The lyrics needed a special tone too, so it was hard to try to create something that has been done millions of times before. I think Simple Love has something different from your everyday love songs. It has a pureness.
How do you relate to the song?
U-SIK: I think both Gyuri and I, at some point in our lives, like any human, crushed on someone, so these lyrics... I'm sure we can both relate- and many of you can relate to this song.
Gyuri: When U-SIK and I were piecing the lyrics together, I thought of my dog. I remember seeing him for the first time and I instantly feel in love. Just him existing is reason enough to love him. So, I tried to think of that pure love I have for him. Haha, I have had the same feelings for people too, but they ended more tragic.
Thoughts & conclusions:
U-SIK: I hope everyone can give a lot of love to Gyuri and the song we worked really hard on. Especially when we realized I would have to sing a tone higher than I'm used to. It was really fun, and I do look forward to helping not only Gyuri but Mellow in the future with their songs.
