Daily Writing Challenge - Day 8 "Wonder/Invasive"
When the light filtered through the Emerald Dream, all the tints and shades of green encompassed the realm. If it was not one of Azeroth's Greatest Wonders, then what was?
All around the trees stood proud and sheltered the wildlife that was born within. Even the spirits found refuge in the roots and leaves. Within one of its groves, Fyarii made her rounds through the woods. There was always a sense of belonging for her here. And the clean air filled her lungs fully.
In the clearing, she could see the river that wrapped around the vegetation at her feet. And wordlessly she moved through it as if the water was a part of her. The plants beneath the water anxiously reached up to greet her. They had been enchanted, the mortals might say. Some might find the sudden motion of the plants and trees invasive given that the normally were inanimate.
But to the druids, this was the way nature showered them in appreciation for their attunement to balance with all living things. Fyarii now rose as the water from her body nurtured the grass she now tread upon. She carried herself with a certain reverence on her patrol. And in doing so, nature complemented her efforts.
In the high tree line, butterflies descended around her. Ensuring her that the route was safe and that they were pleased by her being there. A hand raised to catch one of the monarchs as it settled upon her finger. Inhaling deeply, she raised her head back to look up at the dawning sky. Day or night, the Dream was home to her. And to those that were not apart of it, she could only fathom their envy to her birthright as a Green Dragon.
Sometimes she had thought to invite outsiders to the tranquil woods and humble burrows. But alas... such thoughts were as fleeting as dreams.
And at that moment, the butterfly flew from her hand.
