My therapist also suggested journaling and it really DOES help.
I’m so mad about it working after YEARS of built up adhd guilt from piles of empty or partially used journals. Using my notes app that has my running therapy goals/notes for the coming week helped me uncouple the guilt from the practice.
Giving myself the opportunity to choose between writing and drawing makes committing to the action easier for me as well.
I also am currently not setting an expectation for myself that I have to do it consistently (even though that is best practice). I just have to be good enough at it to get through the day.
