Hii! First of all I want to say that I love your comics and art sm! Me and my girlfriend find your art to be VERY edible 10/10 would eat. I just had a question about your a family bigger than 4 comic. So where were Hikarus parents while he was in Lala Lai in your au? You did state in your last comic that his parents did exist but don't interact with him anymore. Why though? I'd love to learn more about your au!! Keep it up <33
Before I begin, thanks for the message!! ;v;)/ ah, I actually had no idea I have people who read it together with their loved ones, that's amazing!♥♥
This idea originally stems from what Tsukuyomi says about her parents in 127!!
She says entertainment isn't her place, and that she does have a mother that gave birth to this vessel of hers but she can't call them as normal parents.
In 144, she also states that there are gods who don't realize that they're gods.
The idea I've been getting from that is that, there are people who are originally gods who don't realize they're one, and they are not accepted very well by their parents because they have something different about them. I believe that Hikaru and Ai belonged in those cases, and that they're the ones who have entertainment as their field.
I wrote a post about this earlier.
So Hikaru's essentially Satutahiko and Ai is Amenouzume, as thus they do have human parents who gave birth to them and gave them human bodies, but we see how Ai's mother treated her as. She found something about her "strange" and they didn't get along. I think the same thing probably happened for Hikaru. However, this isn't going to be covered in this particular series I'm drawing :)
Even aside from that idea, I wrote this in the tags for that particular post you're mentioning but the closest thing we see about him interacting with his parents is him crouching outside an apartment as a little kid. We don't know anything about his family or if he had one, but seeing how he was a victim of some serious event and had no one to shield him from it, I'm sure his family, even if he actually has one, is just very close to being nonexistent. The only person he could turn for help was Ai when usually, you'd turn to an adult when you get assaulted by another adult... But Ai felt she should stand up for him in his case.
I'm sure someone must have given birth to him, but I think they probably neglected or disowned him after putting him in Lala Lai to earn money for them. And they cut ties with him? They probably didn't love him well seeing how he turned out to be so hollow and deprived of love and craved of it until he thought Ai loved him (then lost her again ._.) I haven't thought of it so much in detail either, but I feel the author didn't feel so much need to flesh this part out as much themselves, his parents are just... Something that theoretically exists but it's as good as being gone after having given birth to the boy. Pretty sad, if you think about it....
