Way back in 1981 I made a family Christening gown to welcome my first niece Kate Mintram-Dorrough into the world. My Mum made 7 yards of hand embroidered lace for me to my design and later the medallions on the underskirt to celebrate each of the new arrivals. Liam James Dorrough is the first born of my Grand-nephews and so it is his turn to be added to the record. It fell to me to do embroidery for him as Mum is no longer with us. I felt a strange mixture of emotions handling the silk again after 35 years.
