Meet Twilight Dream! She is the matriarch of the Twilight family. She was known as a solitary but kind magician, who was able to grant wishes through spells that she developed on her own and preferred to keep hidden, away from prying eyes.

Not much is known about her life, as she quite enjoyed her fame of being a particularly mysterious unicorn. She is a figure surrounded by secrecy, and yet she still is considered an important pillar of Old Ponyland's history.

Some of her scrolls were passed down to her kin, surviving to this day and becoming the family's precious treasure, containing many strange secrets they refuse to share.

Twilight and Ember from my au!!!

Twilight is a skilled magician who lives in the Dream Castle. She’s friends with Majesty, Moondancer, and Galaxy. She’s skilled at Wish Magic, and calls on the stars on Wish Day every year for all of Ponyland to make wishes! She’s good at blinking in and out, and will often forget to walk places. She’s kind and even tempered, and likes spending time in the Dream Castle gardens with her friends.

Ember is Twilight’s apprentice, and is the keeper of the Rainbow of Light. She earned her cutie mark after her and the other ponies defeated Tirek with the power of the rainbow. Even though she’s young, the others agreed she should keep the locket of the Rainbow. Her relentless determination, friendliness, love, and creativity embodies the spirit of the Rainbow and Ponyland itself!

Imagine if in "Too Many Pinkies" the Mirror Pool worked differently and so when Pinkie duplicated herself the first time, it actually worked by summoning in G3 Pinkie Pie, and the two of them got into crazy shenanigans as Twilight looked for a way to get G3 Pinkie back to her home reality

G3 Pinkie is more down-to-earth than G4's zanier Pinkie, so I'm imagining their dynamic to be something like that one meme drawing:

G3 Pinkie tries to be the responsible one, but she can't help but get caught up in the antics sometimes...

I'm imagining this as an AU where Pinkie only uses the Mirror Pool once, with the quest to get G3 Pinkie back home kinda derailing the regular episode's plot, but if either of the Pinkies were to use the Mirror Pool again, it would summon G3.5 Pinkie, then perhaps the Pinkies from the alternate timelines shown in the S5 finale; any alternate Pinkie would do. Maybe G3 Pinkie thinks she can get back home through the Mirror Pool, but it just winds up displacing another Pinkie?

I can also imagine the antics that would happen if other ponies used the Mirror Pool (maybe they tried to look for clues on how to get to the G3 reality but wound up falling in or something, or they heard the legend and tried it without knowing the full implications)...

Rarity and Rainbow Dash fall in at the same time and initially think that they've created hybrid counterparts, but no, G3 Rainbow Dash just has more in common with G4 Rarity, and G3 Rarity just happens to be associated with rainbows (G3 Rarity then goes off to play with the CMC and G3.5 Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle; Applebloom is bummed that she has no counterpart)

Spike falls in, summons G1 Spike, and then G1 Spike also falls in, and now G3 Spike is trying to babysit his younger counterparts but is way out of his depth

G4 Twilight gets a little sidetracked from bringing the counterparts back to their respective realities because she's also trying to interview them for a report; G1 Twilight helps to the best of her ability, although she's not very experienced with scholarly pursuits

G1 and G4 Applejacks compare apple recipes, with G3 Applejack taste-testing

G3 Fluttershy tries to take pictures of G4 Fluttershy, but the latter is too overwhelmed by this more confident earth pony version of herself to have fun with it

G3.5 Cheerilee looks up to G4 Cheerilee and follows her around Ponyville; unicorn G3 Cheerilee gets the other two to help her find G3 Rarity, who's getting into shenanigans with the CMC and their counterparts

those are all the scenarios I can think of off the top of my head; if you guys have any ideas please tell me, i've always loved the idea of the different gens meeting
