Coming Out From The Pit

In terms in perception of yourself, it comes up with one common, powerful, and philosophical question: Who am I? Knowing thyself means finally coming out from the pit of the unknown. But, have you finally had the guts to come out of that pit? In our first lesson in Personal Development, it tackles about getting to know oneself and it opens me up that self-concept is all based on how you truly know yourself.
Getting to know yourself will sometimes bring out the good in us or the other way around. Knowing yourself is like sailing on smooth seas, but are you prepared enough in times of rough waves before reaching your destination? The journey of discovering thyself will depends on who or what surrounds us. We are still learning everyday and it reminds us that conceptualizing thyself is how you absorb all the knowledge you acquire daily either from your friends, enemies, colleagues, parents, idols, and other things that influences you. Even life lessons will emphasize great impact in your life whether apply it or not. Finding yourself applying your life lessons, and making compliments as inspiration, you’re plotting your escape form the pit and start climbing.
Throughout your journey since you already started climbing, it’s normal for us human beings to sometimes feel mixed up and hesitant about it. In knowing ourselves, it generalizes the thought of having a low self-esteem or self-confidence, and self-awareness. Knowing your inner state is how you overcome those things that we felt. Don’t self-doubt and think of it as a process no matter how slow or fast that is. Process is a process. It also helps us redirect negativity to positivity. So therefore, you’re halfway from the pit.
If you still find yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually unstable during your journey, you’re slowing down from coming out of that pit. Not just other people’s words that drags you down, but sometimes our own thoughts or mindset do the dragging-job, thus, it’ll affect our multi-dimensional self .You need to value yourself more, positively evaluate yourself, and start to think yourself as an achiever not a failure; a person’s mindset will greatly affect your journey either you think positively or negatively. We all have our own demons and somehow, it’s uncontrollable. Since you only know your own demons, it requires strong will and positive thought to tame them. If you over-come those things, you’re almost there. Continue climbing out from the pit.
Now that you’ve reached the very top and before coming out from the pit, all you need is a one strong grip, but can you do it alone or do you need a help from someone? Remember: No man is an island. You might fall back from the bottom of the pit. Knowing yourself also requires someone that helps you find yourself and what’s better is that you also help that person know his/her self too. Remind yourself daily that no matter who you are, you are worthy. Everyone’s worthy. Always have a clear and defined self-concept.
I reflect what I’ve learnt from that journey that having rough times and feeling down and anxious is normal but don’t stay in the pit. The greatest comeback of all time is finding yourself start climbing again. I, sometimes, ask myself if who I really am. I still find myself falling from the pit but I always keep in mind that not climbing back again means that you limit yourself and giving up; you let the things that made you fall back from the pit overcome you. Earlier, during our Personal Development class, I figured out that I’m a “pleasers” type of person because I find myself having a low in internal self-awareness, yet having a high external self-awareness. As much as I knew based on the descriptions that were in the PowerPoint Presentation, I somehow relate to it and reflect myself.
