hudson is usually a very gentle guy, especially once it comes to when you start dating. the further along you get though and the more comfortable you become, he starts to get a chance to, say, let loose a little more >:)) he's still by far the most gentle of the three lads i've introduced so far, and he might be a little clumsy at first if you ask him to give you one, but he's certainly got the spirit. his first one definitely gets in a bit more visual spot than he intended on accident, but if he's lost in the sauce of the moment, he might leave a lot more than one 👀 (of course though the next morning he'd definitely ask if you were okay and get you a little ice pack or a cold spoon if you wanted it). he doesn't have a favorite place either, this man ain't picky, but he wouldn't lie if something inside him stirred if you happened to own a nice rack and had a bruise peeking out of a cute push up bra and a lower neckline. but if he's the one getting them though? oh boy, he might just enjoy it a bit too much, or at least a heck of a lot more than he thought he would. he'd also definitely make a cheesy joke like "i see why vampires like biting so much" to hide his flusteredness LOL similarly, the first time he'd get a hickey from you he might get a little too excited and beg ask for them everywhere, only to get called into work the next day with his coworkers wondering why he's bundled up for a winter storm scarf and all when it's 60 degrees in the administration building. he would be pretty embarrassed if someone pointed them out, even if it was his own s/o, but it's always out of love and never out of shame <3 you might notice they also heal a little faster than a normal bruise, but you just chalk that up to him being a nurse and all that

josh is a more interesting case mainly bc i haven't really thought about him in this context before but he's definitely quite the flirt when the time is right. if you were his partner and you had to leave after hanging out, maybe expect a cute little nip on the neck or your shoulder before you go, just so you can have something to keep him on your mind for the rest of the day/night. he sees hickeys more as a sort of playful/teasing thing rather than a territory thing or at least he won't admit to secretly loving the latter but he loves giving them to his partner to make them smile and feel good. his fav place is probably to default at your neck or collar bone, but he'd obviously be more careful if he knew you didn't want them peeking out of your clothes, leaving them on your thighs instead. if he was on the receiving end he'd take them in a similar way, but if you left some in some more sensitive places, like between his thighs on near his v-line, he'd definitely be putty in your hands for the rest of the evening. he's not too nervous about the look of them given that he's seen people on his college campus with hickeys galore, not to mention he knows his way around concealer a little, so he wouldn't mind a few peeking out under his shirt collar. it would be less like something he'd intentionally fiddle with, and more something he'd glide his hand over and get slipped that tiny tinge of pain, and start blushing when he remembered it was there and, more importantly, how it got there.

gabe is another character i haven't thought of in this context yet a surprisingly tender lover at least given his fc lol and can be very gentle in his love making, similar to hudson but with much more precision and slight increase in intensity/spontaneity. he's a great lover through and through, and if hickeys are something his lover wants, then he'll give them everything and more, wherever and whenever you want them~ gabe is also less afraid of the territorial aspect of hickeys than the other two, and he loves knowing that with every mark it serves as another reminder that you're his, and he's yours. he'd probably favor leaving hickeys on your shoulder and the base of your neck, most likely because it's pretty easily accessible and loves any excuse to make you flustered by pulling the fabric of your shirt/dress to leave one there. if you wanted to give him a hickey back he'd definitely let you, more so to entertain you rather than for his own enjoyment - just don't be surprised when it seems to have magically disappeared by the next time you see him. he claims he has a secret for getting rid of hickeys he picked up in college, but he apparently swore to never tell anyone what it was 🧐

If there is one thing I’m good at it’s asking questions and boy did one pop into my head *cracks knuckles* so this is for the current cast so far, what is one thing they could talk about for hours? It could be silly or serious!!! (Heck I blabber about unnecessary muppets knowledge all the time) but just what they like talking about!!

HELLO SAM MY DEAR i saw you send this to my main blog and meant to answer it!! so here it is at last!!!

hudson could probably talk about disney movies/characters and such. not because he's a disney adult, but he works with kids so much that the residual love for it/general knowledge kind of rubs off on him! he also has a fair amount of recommendations for kids shows that adults should watch bc the content is just that good, ala bluey the dog :D

josh could talk about...well, gossip! he loves to chat about random stuff he hears about, or really just anything! he also loves to talk about his editing work, occasionally also gossiping about customers he's had to deal with (one time someone sent him an article to edit that was basically all text-to-speech written, and he has still not gotten over it). he can also probably talk about coffee since he's a barista, but he's by no means a snob about it.

gabe could probably discuss the intricacies of human history forever! he just finds history so fascinating and loves spewing off little facts or, even better, learning something completely new for him which is admittedly pretty rare these days. he also just like discussing things where the meaning isn't clear/up to interpretation, and hearing other people's unique takes on why something means certain things to them. he thinks it's very special and intimate to hear about that type of thing and always admires how people can hold onto to something that on the surface seems to small and insignificant.

Personality: Nosy, indulgent, opinionated, but never in a serious way. He's just talking. As long as they don't mind him bitching, he will support any wrongs a friend does and join on any hijinks.

Style and Appearance: Short hair, stubble but no beard - he hates the beard covers he'd have to wear at work. Expensive but casual. Low end designer, but still designer. Everything looks lived in and comfortable, like he hasn't bothered buying new clothes in years.

Piercings and Tattoos: Cartilage piercing on left ear. Wears a basic stud. Warding tattoo symbols around his wrists, somewhere they can be hidden by a shirt or watch if needed. Specific symbols will glow in presence of specific supernatural entities. Obviously there's limited space, so not all, and he's met some that falsely set off the wrong kind.

Sexuality: Gay, top leaning. More vanilla. Not interested in flings or one night stands.

Abilities: Ritual magic. Very little active power. Weaves intent into things he creates. So mostly food. But he's made some small batch meads that pack a magical punch.

Bits and Pieces:

Gabe is from North East London originally. His first job out of culinary school was working at a very middle class breakfast place just off Upper Street. Has strong opinions on how that's all changed over the years.

Has worked as executive pastry chef for a number of fine dining restaurants, and in bakeries. Currently runs his own diner/cafe that his friends ever so lovingly call the midlife crisis cafe. He's having fun with it, even with the pay cut. (He'd call if a caff, but he's used to diner from americans.)

Started getting more into his magic in the last four years. Around the same time he started his business. Doesn't use magic for that work, but does take private catering orders where he offers it. Only the vaguest of things on menu like good fortune, good health, get-a-long magic for troublesome families to calm down for a gathering. That sort of thing. Can do more specific and targeting things off menu, but denies most requests cause 90% of the time it's love spells even though he clearly advertises he doesn't do that.

Uses nicknames for everyone as well as dolling out the terms of endearment even for strangers. Love, babe, darling, sweetheart etc.

Gossipy bitch. It's part of what he loves about running his own place, he gets to talk to customers, gets some of that bartender/hairdresser confidant privilege. Likes to know everything, shares largely made up stories about his building neighbours back.

Lives in a spacious two bed, that he got in the separation, and splits custody of a ten year old chinese crested named Monty, and kept full custody of all three cats: Midge, Tallulah, and Nora. The cats are clearly well loved. They have entire climbing walls, cat trees, window perches, and hiding spots, all over.

Doesn't believe in denying pleasures. Eat the fancy food. Drink the expensive bottle. Why save it? Here for a good time, not a long time.

He's very earthy neutrals with a pop of colour.

Loves weird artsy hipster shit. Has friends who make do every weird niche maker skill or handmade versions of readily mass-produced materials going. Big believer in having hobbies not focused on consumption. He himself makes small batch meads and makes custom hand bound books for magic notes and recipes. The pillows in his living room were hand dyed batik that he and his ex made together.

One of many who have worked for Sid, paid his due, and come out the other side seeing it as a good experience. The restaurant might've been a money laundering front, but it was still a restaurant. It got him out of debt, and got him wider attention. Only met Sid once, and as far as he could tell, the guy was decent enough.

oh man i've been WAITING for this one!! i actually have playlists i've made for the more fleshed out angelverse ocs i have so far, i just haven't posted them anywhere yet LOL. better late than ever, more under the cut!!

for gabe's playlist, it's surprisingly mellow and sad given what i've spoken about him so far which doesn't include his surprisingly tragic backstory lmao, but we'll get to that eventually. the song i most associate with gabe from this ones on there is probably Between the Bars by Elliott Smith! underneath the party animal/dashing exterior just lies a man who longs for some sense of normalcy - at least, in one very specific aspect of his life. his story involves him being very dedicated and protective of a very special someone, and i think this song perfectly encapsulated how he longs for them in a way we all can feel for yknow?

for hudson's playlist, it was actually the first one i made for the angelverse! of course it's much more chipper and happy than gabe's, but it's also still very chill and...surprisingly yearning? but it's just because he likes the vibes of those songs lol, not bc he's actually in emotional pain atm. the song i most associate with him there is probably SIERRA NIGHTS by Kevin Abstract feat. Ryan Beatty, bc i listened to that song literally 24/7 when i was first creating hudson and the rest of this funky little cast.

also, just bc i have the other two:

josh's playlist...man, if you thought gabe's was sad, you better strap in for the longing on this man's tracks LMAO. he has a lot of angst and heartbreak in his past (and possibly present) and his playlist i feel reflects it pretty well, along with a few odd ball songs here and there to capture the weirdness of the situation he gets caught in in my little lore hehe. if you would've asked me a week ago, the song i would've most associated with him would probably Everyone Adores You (at least I do) by Matt Maltese, HOWEVER a new banger has made its way into my ears, so now i like to think it's Here We Go...Again by The Weekend feat Tyler the Creator. it's just such a good banger and i really like the electronics on the song, and josh was the first person i thought of when listening to it in the context of my ocs!

and finally even though i haven't introduced her formally yet lmao, betty's playlist very much speaks to her experience as a single mother under extraordinary circumstances, among other things that happen to her later in the story. the song i associate with her the most is My Little Love by Adele (and basically all the songs of hers on that playlist bc holy fuck, that album slaps). that song literally made me full on sob the first time i ever heard it within the context of my own family issues, and i cried even more when i realized how well it fits into betty's narrative. it also really helped me flesh out her own role in the story besides the stereotypical adoring mother, and allowed me to really develop a great and, not surprisingly, tragic aspect that really raises stakes for everyone involved in the angelverse. i really hope i can actually put her post out there soon LOL bc i really do adore her and i want other people to as well!!
