After Jim “ImagineJim” Cassidy released his initial six-by-six grid of the Marvel characters he wished for in Marvel Contest of Champions, I began my own similar grid.
I did publish a shortened version of this list a few times, limited by the Twitter character limit. But because I was so focused on serving the community of Summoners and reporting on their wishes and conversations, I never finished my own personal wishlist grid.
Eventually Jim published a three-panel, 108-character version that became demi-famous when game creative director Gabe Frizzera remarked that Jim’s grid had around 15 characters then in the works behind the scenes at Kabam. Because Jim’s grid became newly important to our future-champs discussion, I nicknamed it the #JimGrid.
Having now myself retired from video games and no longer consistently making MCOC-related content,¹ I now have had time to occasionally poke at my own grid. On September 17, 2021 I published my own 108-character “GabeGrid,” which represents the collection of Marvel characters I think would make interesting MCOC “champs.”
This image is my first 36-character panel, and represents, roughly, the top of my own personal wishlist for MCOC.

Notes
1. The MCOC Wishlist and some of its publications are still being carried by a new team of editors. The author, Other Gabe, has retired but is still loosely overseeing the transition to the young, hungry crew who are taking over.
