Advice from an Interview with Matt Rhodes - https://characterdesignreferences.com/blog-interviews-4/matt-rhodes
-” I firmly believe that you only get out of school what you put in. I also think it's important not just to draw a lot, but to challenge yourself by drawing the difficult stuff. “
- “ If you're suffering from art-block, don't sit at the desk staring into the white void. Go for a walk in a forest, watch a movie, lay down and listen to some music, read a book about a subject you're not interested in. “
- “ Industries change, technology changes, artists change. There's a lot out there, but I think that if you work as hard as you can, practicing and finishing work, then you'll be prepared for just about anything. I also think it's a good idea to love the work, not the subject. Whether it's games, comics, film, and whether it's fantasy/sci-fi/Barbie's Dream House, just love the work, the act of designing, the collaboration with a team. “
- “ I now believe that it doesn't matter HOW you draw, just that you CAN draw, because then your ideas shine through loud and clear. So, work super hard to be the best version of YOU that you can. “
