As she walked through the corridor she couldn’t help but feel the slight pings of pain across her back with each step she took. Of course, the pain was only surface level and Adrienne had been through enough in her lifetime to barely wince at the gashes that ran along her skin. Still, she carried a small bit of resentment for herself by allowing herself to be distracted that she became unaware of her surroundings. The injury had taken her out of the fight far sooner than she had wished. It would not have made sense for her to continue fighting with her injury though. Gabriel of course removed her from the action as soon as possible, thankful for her protector. She had never thought of what life could be like without him by her side. There was an unspoken understanding that they would never be without the other, they had lived enough lifetimes alone to know that being together was the only option for the rest of eternity. The anger festered inside of her though, making her hellbent on making the wolves pay for their actions.
Feeling fully rested, she immediately made her way to her king’s chambers. She did not even knock, knowing if there was anyone in the room speaking with Gabriel that her presence alone would be enough to send them away. “Mi alma,” her voice well rested from the early night she had. Of course, she did not simply go to sleep when she was being tended to for her wounds. She had spent all night thinking and plotting for their next plan of action to take now that war was on the table. She was the general after all, that meant that she would have a huge hand in making any action happen. “Tell me the count of the fallen soldiers. We must gather them and give them a proper send off. A trip to paradise would not be the same without full closure from this hellish earth we have been condemned to,” her heart felt heavy for her brethren who had died at the hands of the mutts. “Qué estás pensando, mi Rey? Cómo podemos evitar que los lobos tomen más vidas?”
