Gabriel laughed and shook his head. “Don’t go spreading it around that I’ve gone soft” he joked as he stepped over the threshold of her cottage. “I have an image to uphold.” He hadn’t always been a nice guy, and he knew that. But since he’d found love again, he’d done his best to be a better person. If only to make his wife happy.
