I hope Damien and Salinger become pals because they're both so mean.

Gail is too good for both Salinger and Rowan

I hope Sail breaks up so I can move in on Gail.
Hello Darkness, My Old Friend || Rowan + Salinger
It was something of a relief to get back to the quiet of the woods, considering that it had been a little while since Rowan had managed to make the time to come out to get more work done on the cabin - and, of course, in comparison to the tension he’d left behind at Gail’s house. Considering how often talking to others turned sour for him, Rowan was starting to just accepted that he simply wasn’t skilled in the art of conversation.
He was kneeling on the ground on the outer border of the cabin, working on sealing the exterior base molding, when he heard a twig snap, and he sat up, immediately on the alert. His hearing, as he’d noticed since the storm, was quite acute, and that snap of a twig may as well have been a firecracker for all it caught his attention. That was definitely a human footstep - and, seeing as they seemed to be sneaking, it probably wasn’t one who’d wandered over by mistake or for a friendly visit.
Slowly, he reached a hand to his waist, and mentally let out a stream of oaths; in his haste to leave Gail’s house, he’d forgotten to grab his pistol. Anxiously he stood and slipped into the cabin past the half-completed front wall and picked up the bent-nosed rifle sitting in the corner. The thing was useless, of course, but it still would let him look like he was armed. He cautiously stepped back outside, rifle held ready to raise, glancing among the surrounding trees. “I can hear you, you know,” he called. “Come on out.”
