WHY IS A RAVEN LIKE A WRITING DESK?

This is the perplexing riddle posed by the Mad Hatter in Alice In Wonderland. To Alice's dismay, he admits that he hasn't the slightest idea.

In my novel, Gabriel Finley and The Raven's Riddle, Abby offers a few of her own answers. She's the kind of person who loves a good riddle, the harder the better. You'll find her solutions on page 76.

The author of Alice In Wonderland, Lewis Carroll, eventually suggested an answer of his own: they both produce notes, although a raven's are rather flat!

And, of course, Edgar Allan Poe wrote on both!
