Gabby & Jay
I really hope you like it ;) x
I awkwardly looked at the camera as the guy instructed me to tilt my head up, to the right and to twist my body to the left, all while remaining graceful. The photographer dramatically threw his hands up in frustration and told us to take five. I headed to the snack bar and grabbed a water.
“First time modeling?” A guy with really tall, pale guy with curly hair came up and smiled at me. I couldn’t really see him because the sun’s glare was in my way.
“Nope, been doing this for years,” I said sarcastically. He chuckled and offered to open my water bottle as he saw me struggle.
“Just relax and do what makes you feel comfortable. As long as it looks like you’re having fun and looks posh while doing so, they won’t mind.” He walked me to the shade where there was lounging chairs and I finally got a good look at him.
“You’re the guy from The Wanted, right? The ones we’re supposed to be modeling with after this for Glamour magazine, is it?”
“That’s me. This is so different from our style. It’s more fashionable and posh and elegant and we’re everything but that.” I laughed as he drank his water with his pinky sticking up in the air.
“That’s exactly how you do it, Mr. McGuiness. Stick your pinky up in the air like you just don’t care.” He laughed.
“Models! Break’s over.” I heard the director of the photoshoot say.
“I’ll see you again in a bit?” I headed over and began listening to the director and photographer drone on about positions and such. Every now and then I would shift my view to Jay and see him making faces at the rest of the boys or simply looking at me ‘work my stuff’. After another one hundred shots I left to the cabin to change outfits. They gave me a beautiful purple dress, with shoes and accessories to match. [x] I headed out to see a new director instructing the boys on how to position themselves. Jay came over to me and hugged me.
“Hey you. Haven’t talked to you in forever.” I giggled as the director furiously instructed Jay to return to his position. “Do these posh instructors always sound like that?” He whispered in my ear, still embracing me.
“Yes, they do. Now go before I get in trouble to.” We walked over to the set and were positioned.
“You with the brown hair, head over to the exotic looking one. Curly hair, behind them.” We took our stances without further say and the photo shoot was underway. An hour and a half later we were all joking around, chatting about the snobby directors. When we were done Jay pulled me aside.
“Um, if you don’t mind, I would like to keep talking to you after this. So um, can I have your number?” He asked shyly, his hands buried deep in his pockets.
“Better yet, let’s get something to eat. I’m starving. You’re vegan or something right?” I asked trying to lighten the mood.
“Vegetarian, yes.” He said. “Don’t models like you not eat or something?” He laughed and I gave him the death stare. “I’m joking!”
“Vegan, vegetarian same difference.” He shook his head as he laughed. “Let me change out of this and we can go.” I went back into the cabin and grabbed my clothes from the locker in the back. I changed into my casual clothes, ready to go out. [x] I put my shades on and saw Jay headed towards me, dressed equally as casual. We left the lads behind and went to grab a bite.
“You looked, and still do, beautiful.” I blushed as he put his hand on the small of my back. We walked down the street to a local burger shop. We saw paparazzi across the street but we chose to ignore it. “You’re quite the model, when you’re not asked to bend over backwards while trying to look graceful.”
“Thank you. You’re not quite bad yourself. Even though you tried to be silly and kept getting yelled at. You boys are quite the bunch.” I laughed as he opened the door to the burger joint. “I really hope this isn’t the last time I see you. Are you in New York for long?”
“We’re here for another day or two, but we visit often. Maybe we can call this the start of a new friendship?”
“I guess we can.” I smiled as he put his arm around me once more.
