Really hate guys online saying "Just go play Love and Deepspace" in response to us wanting more and better male characters in Hoyo games. And also being upset about Infinity Nikki being a mess and that "the female audience still has LADS".
First of all, I don't care for that art style. It's more realistic. Those boys look like Kpop idols. It has no dragon boys and fox boys and boys with long flowing Sephiroth hair. I'm also not a fan of muscular bodies. I'm here for my soft androgynous anime boys, and LADS is not that.
Also, I'm not someone who likes to self-insert into romantic scenarios. Yes, I play some otome games, but I really enjoy them for the plot and not the self-insert romance fantasy. Which is why I much prefer ones where the main character has her own personality and isn't just meant to be a blank slate that you can project on.
I guess this is why I'm so focused on HSR now--they're still giving me the twinks I crave.
summoners war keeps dropping some of the most fucakable characters but people are too busy being horny over genshin men and honkai women
there are three types of players in gacha games: (1) yuri gamers (2) cishet man (3) the fujoshi
and those guys discussing game mode content
city of cats (aka elex localisation) 'cat fantasy' REALLY is fun to play
but fucking hell the excessive bare skin and humongobonglebonkers are untasteful and constantly in every moment, it's understandable if some users choose not to play this
Thoughts about Cat Fantasy
this is literally where all of funtoy's budget went from food fantasy whales because jesus fuck everything is high quality compared to Food Fantasy
but one of my huge takeaways about the game is that it contains elements from multiple gachas/mobages have played (except mihoyo dont ever expect me to play their games, but very well-versed about it from exposure to it)
it has the classic, mihoyo 'are you a boy or girl player' (was about to get upset that funtoy stooped that low) however you CAN RE-SELECT YOUR APPEARANCE ANYTIME YOU WANT TOand it isnt gender-locked and of course, your icon doesnt have to reflect the appearance you've chosen
*Gonna have to address the elephant in the roomnand it's that funtoy has definitely upped the fanservice to like. Blue Archive standards. But somehow took it a step further. However, it's slightly more tasteful than the giga-ass-in-your-face NIKKE character design.
If you plan to play this, please note the fanservice (aka appealing to gooners) level is literally between Blue Archive and NIKKE. And you will see ass on screen while downloading it.
[Gameplay] It uses the card system from Reverse:1999 (wonderful game, if you dislike fanservice then you should check it out) as combat. It's easy to learn and doesn't require intense math skills or slash combat.
It definitely takes the element from Arknights of basically having furry characters, the only main difference is that the units are ALL FELINES instead of having multiple animal species like AK.

There's a huge element of Food Fantasy where most of the worldbuilding is primarily focused on.... You operating in a café and not like. An actual office or base (funtoy has simplistic preferences)
Overall, the game is fun, but you *NEED* a [HIGH IMMUNITY TO FANSERVICE] to play it. Because the fanservice is worse than Summoners War's huge boob insertion and Mihoyo (and this coming from someone who dislikes Mihoyo design)

honestly in this year of 2024
really beginning to think that fandom drama was never the real enemy of gacha games (talking about food fantasy, hoyoverse, cookie run, idv, etc.)
the real enemies are
obviously the entire system of microtransaction gambling that preys on whales
racist artists and writers (see: ovenbreak update 2023 and all of hoyoverse)
localisations teams erasing significant storylines and queer subtext/dialogue to appeal to western expectations (looking @ elex and twst's team)
localisation teams censoring 'violent' and 'dark themes' MEANT FOR 17+ YEAR OLDS... in order to gain more money by making games available to 7-15yr olds (see: food fantasy and idv global chat rooms, not recommended)
misogynistic devs and teams actively banning artists/fans who support feminism from creative contests and literally deleting any form of feminism, this is geared towards kr mobages or kr localisation teams (cookie run ovenbreak would actively ban usernames that specifically used 'lesbian' and 'feminism' AND refused to take down a guild named after a rape scandal AND forced their only woman coummunity manager to stay live on camera as korean players threw sexual insults and threats @ her because the anniversary was bad)
honestly while it looks like cookie run is diverse on the surface for having characters with saturated browns, devsis is actually 'a bad company' because they one time said 'cookie dough-colour is fake and doesnt reflect real-life skin colour' and more of the new characters in kingdom increasingly have more dough-colours similar to people with 'fair skin' and have begun to desaturate cookies with darker dough-colours
and cookie run kingdom has been kicking out apple users or certain android devices because they refuse to optimise their game or allow low quality settings
honestly looking at this list makes almost* all fandom drama seem incredibly fucking stupid compared to whatever shit the people in charge of these games are doing
*almost is used because (1) racist/homophobic fans in fandom is actually a real problem and (2) idv is an outlier when it comes to fandom drama sometimes illegal shit is literally happening in that fandom that terrifies me
