My first Bro x Reader hope you guys enjoy it, I really liked writing it! I imagine that Bro and his family have a private apartment in HQ tucked away from the normal dorms. Yes, I count Guita as Bro's daughter too and HC that she lives with him and Dear.
⚠️ Warnings! Allusions to sex! That's it.⚠️
Kisses, enjoy!
The night is supposed to be quiet... well, mostly quiet; it's supposed to be quiet with the exception of Bro's quiet snoring. You're lying next to him, leg flung over his waist, held loosely in a massive hand, body tucked against him, head on his shoulder, his other arm wrapped around your back and hand heavy on your hip; until one of you changes position that is.
But it's not quiet. You have your chin resting on his pec, eyes closed, mom senses like Bro and your kids like to call them has you listening.
You can hear your son refusing to settle; huffing and turning, and you know it's not because he's hot or sick; it doesn't sound the same.
"Bro," you whisper, sitting up and shaking him awake. He hums and cracks an eye open, gaze bleary with sleep. "Dear is having a nightmare." And you both start moving in tandem. Your husband reaches for an extra pillow, you climb over his waist, throwing on his discarded shirt on the way to the door. When you open it and step out, he's already pulling on his boxers.
You're halfway through the living room when Dear opens his door, he startles when he sees you in the glow of the night lights.
He's adorable in his oversized jammies and binky, his hair a cotton ball of poof and disarray.
"Hi sweetie," you greet.
You know he won't talk about the nightmares not when they're fresh. So instead you usher him to your room, careful not to wake Guita.
When you make it into the room it's all practiced movement; Bro picks up Dear comforting him in hushed whispers, you climb into bed and when you're settled you reach for your son, finally Bro climbs in last turning off the bedside lamp.
"We need a bigger bed," Bros whispers, nudging Dear, tucking him against your side.
"He says that every time, doesn't he, Dear? Then gets offended when we bring it up." You giggle.
Slowly, you three settle into your spots, slipping back into sleep, wrapped in your hubby's arms. Tonight's nightmare is left for the morning's light and Guita's surprise attacks.
"I really got lucky," you hear Bro say in the dark just before slipping completely into sleep.
Hii! can I request August x Pregnant! reader? all fluffy obvii
So Reader was Expelled from spherithe just for getting pregnant without being married (idk but I have the feeling they would condemn people for such dumb shi) but she survived the fall thanks to her jinki (whatever u want it to be) and enjin found her and took her with him
when August met her he just started making pregnancy clothes and baby clothes and EVERYONE knew he liked reader EXCEPT READER, she refused to belive It cus Maybe she thought august would never want a woman with a baby that's not his.
so riyo and semiu make a whole plan and scenario to help August confess !
also omg this just came into my mind, eisha takes care of the whole ultrasound and all and everytime Reader gets an Ultrasound August just "CASUALLY" passed by to visit his dear sister and watched the whole thing
Oh gosh, I really hope this is to your liking. I really enjoyed writing this, and I love how much people are already loving August. Thank you so much for being my first ask, and I hope to get more from you in the future.

A Storks Delivery
The ground was nothing like you had expected or had been told; there was color, life, KINDNESS! Kindness that your own parents hadn't shown you from the moment they had discovered your pregnancy. The moment they had seen your hidden belly—the one you had kept hidden for five months—they had locked you in your room.
As you sobbed, begging to be let out and for their understanding, you could hear their voices crying to the Apostles, "Why?" Because you had gotten pregnant, because you wanted to keep your baby.
There in the Sphere, it was illegal to have children out of wedlock, and the punishment for such a "dirty" crime you had learned to late was death by Pit; no one from the higher echelon of the Sphere want to be associated with someone who did what you had done.
But you hadn't died, not when you had fallen nor when you had crossed the border. And when the trash beast had attacked you, you had been saved by Enjin and a massive 15 foot shoebill stork. A shoebill he had clarified belonged to you; your jinki, a brooch of said bird, had activated as you'd fallen, flying you down safely then protecting you until he had been able to swoop in. After that, he'd taken you to Cleaner HQ, introducing you to his boss Arkha who after learning of your expulsion and condition, had offered you a position as a Cleaner and a safe place to stay.
There on the ground you quickly learned that people were kinder, your pregnancy was more welcomed almost celebrated; people where even horrified and offended for you when word got out about the brutality of the Sphere.
Slowly as time passed you became friends with Semiu, Riyo and Eishia, and surprisingly with August the energetic fashionista. Speaking about August; Riyo nudged you pointing your attention to the common rooms entrance where said man was standing excitedly.
"Hey there, mama jama! Guess what I got!" He grinned already pulling out numerous outfits, for the past couple of weeks; since the moment you had arrived actually August had been personally making you maternity outfits, each one just as colorful and well made as the last.
"August these are gorgeous!" You gushed as he showed off, the smile he gave you was radiant. "Can I choose one?" You asked sure that's all he was doing, showing off.
"One? Girl they're all for you." Riyo piped up taking a dress and pressing against you. "These are all maternity clothes." You whipped your head from her to August, a blush rushing into your cheeks as he nodded.
"What? No! Auggie, this is too much!" You took his hands, trying to stop him from pulling out more. "You should be making clothes for someone you like not me." You said trying to push the garments back to him, everyone had been so kind already, you didn't want to be greedy. Mostly, being around him was already enough.
"WAH?! BUT I DO LIKE YOU!!" He replied not bothering to take the clothes or still half full bag. "I GOTTA GO, RUDO GOT HIS STUFF WREAKED SO NOW I GOTTA BE THE HERO AND GET HIM NEW DIGS!!"
"He's a really good guy isn't he." You whispered blushing that made Riyo snort starting to pack the clothes back up.
"You're hopeless you know? He obviously likes you-likes you. You're the only one who gets custom Collosso outfits." You remembered the team mentioning August designing and running the brand. "We only get custom uniforms, we gotta buy our casual wear." Riyo was pouting.
"He doesn't like me. Just feels bad. I mean, who would want to be with a soon-to-be single mom? I'm sure he already has a girlfriend." You huffed running a hand over the swell of your baby bump as if accentuating the point.
You didn't catch the way your friend frowned, giving a little shake of her head. At the door just out of sight stood Semiu and August, who sighed dejectedly, something so out of character that the golden-eyed woman was almost concerned.
"She's so beautiful," August sighed, wistfully saddened that you thought so little of yourself. To him, you were a literal angel carried down on her silver steed. If it were up to him, he'd have rushed back into the room and professed his love already. However, Riyo and Semiu had pulled him back weeks ago, convincing him to take a softer approach.
"I know," Semiu replied, turning to go down the hall.
"I really love her." He followed.
"I know."
Everyone in base knew about the crush the designer had on you; he wasn't exactly subtle about it. From the moment you two had met, he'd been smitten, giving you clothes regularly, taking food and sweets to you when your feet had gotten swollen. At one point, they'd even overheard him asking Delmon about what flowers someone like you might like. The issue was that the person he wanted to know about his feelings didn't know or even believe it when people suggested or said that he did.
It was a few days later when you "bumped" into him, no pun intended, literally having waddled into him on your way to your first ultrasound with Eishia.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" You gasped grabbing onto the strap of his overalls.
"Ain't not reason for sorries, got you by surprise." He laughed making sure you were steady on your feet again you tried not to blush at his hands on your hips. "You coming to see my dear sister? Let's go together!"
"Oh yeah, sure... I'm finally going to meet my baby." Your voice was shaky, nervous at what could happen. You hadn't had an ultrasound before; considering the secrecy, what if something was wrong? What if they'd gotten poisoned when you breathed in the toxic air when you fell? What if they hadn't developed properly? What if-
August hands wrap around your dwarfing your smaller ones, you'd started to spiral, hyperventilating with the downfall of your thoughts; something that had been occurring the closer the appointment got.
"Hey, now, there's no reason for that." He led you inside, careful not to bump your belly against the tables. "I KNOW! WHAT IF I STAY AND BE YOUR CHEERLEADER?! JUST FOR TODAY!" He cheered.
You had planned to do this on your own, having gone as far as rejecting Riyo and Semiu's offer to come, but looking at him, him being there brought a sense of calm that had you nodding.
You had honestly believed that the first time would be the only time, but as you progressed with your pregnancy and attended more ultrasounds, you saw more and more of August. Anytime you had one scheduled, August would always be there, going on about helping his sister, hanging out, or even going to give her food from their grandmother. And like the first time, he'd always offer to stay and be your support, and just like the first time, you'd agree.
He'd been there when Eishia showed the first ultrasound pictures of a little boy, the second time when you got to hear his heartbeat, and most recently at the end of your first trimester, just after your appointment, your babykicked so strongly at August's laughter it had you grasping his hand, making him pause and gently as if on instinct you set his hand on you belly.
"I think he really likes you," you whispered, beaming at him. August stood there, somewhere between wanting to cry and kiss you senseless wondering how you didn't know what you did to him; it was beyond him.
"I like him too...he's got spunk, just like his mom." He whispered, and as you giggled up at him, he decided to put the plan he and the girls had thought up into action. Like Riyo had said, it was time to lock in and man up.
It took time for the plan to be put into motion, to be set up and completed with having work and waiting for supplies It took longer than he would have liked but August was not a half willed man and your best friends would not let some guy give you low effort. By then time everything was done and ready you were in your third trimester the clock was ticking both on August's patients and on your due date.
"Hey mama." Semiu greeted returning to her throne that was the reception desk. "I need you to do me a favor."
"If it's something I can do." You replied playfully trying to soothe the gymnast inside you.Semiu tutted at your stomach, chastising him for being so rowdy and blaming August for already rubbing off on him. The comment made you blush, much to the woman's glee.
"Mr. Fashionista has some new requests. Turns out that fool Enjin found himself a new recruit out in no man's land." She sighed, already getting the intake paperwork ready. "I gotta do a rundown on the kid so I gotta stay here. You mind going?" You were already standing.
Semiu's directions led you deeper in HQ to the shared rooms, there were a few apartments for people like Bro who had kids, or wanted to share living spaces, it was also where you would be relocating once your baby arrived, it was to one the apartments that Semiu had sent you.
It was a small one, two bedrooms, a bath, and a small living and kitchen area, but when you called out, you got no reply. To your surprise, as you walked in, you could see that the place had been furnished. There were dishes, a couch, and the bathroom door lay open, showing an array of fluffy towels. However, the real surprise came when you opened one of the bedroom doors wider.
There was a moment where you didn't quite realize what you were seeing, but the more you stood there, the more you realized. You were standing in a nursery, a new one. It still smelled of freshly painted walls.
There was a crib centered on a wall, a chair by the window tucked just right so someone could sit and look outside. A changing table was stacked with diapers, and there was even a small shelf holding toys, but what really caught your eye was the half-open drawer full of baby clothes.
You stood there taking in the sight you didn't hear him until he knocked.
"Surprise," August's voice was quiter than his normal tone, as if he was afraid of scaring you away. "Semi sent you before it was ready."
You didn't realize you were crying until he reached out, gently wiping the tears away.
"Why?" You asked not moving from him.
"Why? Because I love you! I've been in love with you since I met you!" He was grinning as of we saying the most normal thing.
"What? But why?" You tried to argue. "I'm just some pregnant woman, I'm nothing special."
"What!? Whoever put that thought in your head, huh?! You're amazing, you're a fighter, and you love deeply. I've seen it when you're with others and talk about your baby. You're selfless, and everyone goes quiet when you enter a room. Your smile brightens my days, makes me want to be a fool just to see it again!" You were holding his strap crying more earnestly taking in his words.
"I don't care if your pregnant, I love you and your baby, because as selfish as it sounds, him being here brought you to us...to me and everyone knows how much I love you, but you're the only one I want to know how much I do." You were really crying now, tucking your face into his neck you felt his arms wrapped around you as best he could bump allowing.
"Will you let me love you? Can I have the honor of loving you and your son?" He asked pressing a gentle kiss to your head.
"Ye-yes! I love you too!" you cried. You didn't know exactly when it happened, maybe sometime between the first time he had presented you with (favorite color) clothes or when he had offered to stay with you for that first ultrasound, but you had fallen in love with him, though you had pushed those feelings away until now.
"Really?! Me?! You do?!" It was as if you'd lit a firework inside him, doubly so when you nodded. Soon, he was peppering you with kisses and wiping away your tears. Then, with a hesitant look and your nod of permission, he kissed you gently.
"I love you, I love you." He chanted quietly to you in that nursery where for the first time in a long time August was giving back to you love you had lost on the Sphere.
BONUS!!!!
A few months later, after hours of labor that resulted in a call to Alice, August and Eishia's grandmother, one Akuta leader fainting in surprise (he was with you when your water broke), and August planted firmly at your back as support, you welcomed the newest and youngest member of Akuta and the Cleaners, (baby name). A loud and healthy baby boy who already had you and the others wrapped around his fingers.
"I can't believe it, nine months in his mother's womb and he comes out just as loud as August." Semiu tutted.
HELLO, HI, sorry for the very long delay in personal posts but I really wanted to run with the idea given by Riyuuisthecutest, but my sweet fuck, I never thought August of all people would give me writers block/writers problems, but luckily here we are....eventually. please enjoy my first attempt at writing for Auggie!!
Imagine August going crazy for his girl, uugh my heart 😍
⚠️WARNINGS⚠️ blood, mentions of assault on reader, assault, cussing! (If there is nay missing let me know and it will be added!)
August sat looking at the upturned heaps of trash, fingers tapping the bat he'd decided to bring along. He should have been with you, holding your hand, making sure your were entertained and resting, but no, here he was in some bullshit polluted zone looking for your Vital Instrument.
He'd gotten the call from Arkha of all people. Team Child had come across three men beating on something, scrambling like roaches when they'd seen the Cleaners vehicle. It was only once they'd driven up next to what it was that they'd realized it was you.
You'd been jumped from the back, hit over the head before being severely beaten when you'd put up a fight. Whoever they'd been hadn't realized who you belonged to. They'd thought you were just some easy target to kidnap. Unfortunately, six against one wasn't a fair fight and had resulted in your injuries and, the worst thing of all in your and the other Givers' eyes, the loss of your Vital Instrument.
You'd spent the better part of the night crying into his chest, blaming yourself for going out alone, for not paying enough attention, and that's what had really pushed him over the edge. Now here he was at the place you'd been assaulted looking for your most precious possession, and if luck was on his side, the fucks who'd gone after one of their own, one of his.
"Man I can't believe you lost your fucking chocker, how do you lose that shit?!" A voice barked, sounding like it had come from behind one the neighboring trash heaps.
"That bitch ripped it off when they started choking me out," a second responded, and August, straightening a band of red between his fingers.
Walking around the heap he waved at the men, they stood a few feet atop the trash.
"EY YO! THIS IT?!" he called, waving the choker above his head. Behind his glasses, he took in the men's appearance: their hair, smudged faces, last season's Colosso shirts green, blue, pink, and there on the hip of one of them, your missing, no, stolen instrument.
"Ah, fuck, aren't we lucky this week!!" Ths one in blue cheered, running down the aisle, followed closely by his friends.
"NAH, MAN, LUCKS ALL MINE!" August laughed.
The bat cracks, blues head flies back. Blood, spit, and what might be teeth fly skyward. Pinkie and Greenie watch in horror as their friend goes down groaning and holding his nose.
"What the fuck man?!" Pinkie yells runs to his friend not realizing where he's put himself. "What the fuck was that for?!"
"AH CMON I DID SAY THE LUCK WAS ALL MINE," August's grin turns cold and he swings the bat over his shoulder, "real lucky to find the pieces trash who beat up my girlfriend." The three men freeze even Blue, he can hear the blood bubble in his nose.
"Now time to even up the score." He doesn't wait for a reaction, no need when the outcome would still be the same. He swings like a batter, hears and feels metal meet skin. It's enough force to send Pinkie flying his body meeting trash and disappearing under the trashslide.
When he turns to the other two its only to witness Greenie scrambling away through the mountain of filth leaving Blue, who is trying to back pedal.
"We din-didn't know, man!" He tries to excuse. It falls flat, and August swings again, down at the man's stomach, and follows it with a kick to the head. This time, the man stays down, blood pooling from his mouth. August doesn't bother to run after the other one, its this one that has your Vital Instrument and that had been his main goal.
Unhooking it from Blues belt he grips the mans hair and gives it a good rough shake, it earns him a groan of pain.
"Shit, Auggie, I knew you could go a bit crazy but fuck." Enjin's voice drags through his haze of anger, blood cooler now that he has what he came for.
"WAH?! EISH NEVER SAID NOTHING?!" He gasps bouncing upright and twirling to face his friend. Enjin had agreed to come with him "Two is better than one," he'd said but August wasn't stupid, you were his teammate and he didn't like people fucking with his people. "SIS BE KEEPING THINGS DOWN LOW!!"
"Yeah, sure, or she doesn't want you blowing out her ear crying." Enjin replies dropping Greenie, bad luck to run into a pissed Enjin but better than letting him get away.
"C'mon let's get back to (name) she's gonna be happy to have her Jinki back."
"FUCK YEAH SHE IS, TIME TO SPOIL MY GIRL, NEW GEAR, NEW KICKS, GONNA GET HER THAT SHIT SHE LIKES TO EAT." August leads them back to the car, bouncing all the way, back to his laid back norm.

Shotgun Kisses
Enjin x GNReader
There's a livewire under your ribs. Somewhere close to your heart, maybe it's even replaced your heart, you don't know. All you know is that it's there and it won't let you calm down. It's kept you awake for hours, even though the job is long done.
You know it's there because of the job, a job that was supposed to be easy ending up being a little too close of a call, leaving you with enough adrenaline that it feels like you're vibrating though the hand over you shows you're not.
But that's the spiral you're in. Body: tired, mind: exhausted, your nerves: too electrified to let you shut off and it gets worse when you finally get up to look for the hidden packet of cigs you keep.
You're not a smoker or not a frequent one more at least, but you learned long ago that on days like today a smoke is enough to mellow out the edges and when you finally wrap your had around your hidden pack. You realize that you haven't gotten a fresh pack in a long time, and the one in your hands is painfully empty. Rummaging around your pack and room solidifies that fact even more.
"Fuuuck." You pace, running through any idea that crosses your mind.
You could go to the nearest town, but that would mean filling out a request form for a vehicle, which would mean waking up Semiu. Or you could ask her for a smoke, and that would also mean waking her up, which would not be good, she was scary when woken up.
There was option two which meant walking, which, going solo at night with hours of walking to and from, was also dangerous, but you had done the walk before, a few months ago actually; for a post weed munchie run with August, Gob, and.....Enjin.
Option three is thought up and made the moment it crosses your mind and the livewire sparks again as you walk down the halls scanning for the man's room.
"Enjin." You're knocking on the worn door the moment it comes into reach, not even bothering with the worry of him being asleep. He was as notorious a night owl as he was a smoker, its proven even more when the door cracks, low golden light spilling onto the hall.
"Well, isn't this a surprise." He rubs his eyes, "Or am I dreaming?"
He can't see it and you won't tell him but the line lightens the livewire, instead you scoff playfully and roll your eyes.
He's dressed down, hair down across his forehead. Cleaners' gear replaced with baggy sweats and a shirt, old worn slippers scuff the floor as he leans against his door frame, his tattooed fingers reaching to scratch at his jaw bringing your salvation along between his fingers.
"You're dreaming," you tease back wriggling your fingers, "dreaming of giving pretty lottle me a ciggie." It earns you a laugh from him. Your mouth waters at the sliver of smoke that flows from his mouth.
"Ha! in your dreams babes, this is my last one and I like it all to myself."
You want to throttle him, more so when he has the nerve to laugh at the scandalized look you throw at him.
"You have got to be kidding. You're practically a smoke shop all on your own." You hiss, trying not to wake his neighbors but the man only laughs, pulling away the cig so you can't get to it.
"Maybe if you beg, I'll let you take a hit." Oh, he is being insufferable with his little power trip, but that's the thing about Enjin. He likes to tease you too much to the point he can forget how quick you are when needed.
Enjin is quick, mentally and physically, but even he is taken by surprise by the hand gripping his shirt, doubly so by the other that's taken his jaw. Triply so at the fact that you've pulled him so close and when he chokes on his smoke, the surprise evolves higher when you don't even hesitate to breathe.
Your lips slip open, there's a ghost of a touch as you hold him still stealing the smoke that eminates from his lungs. When the smoke is all gone and you finally pull back it's with Enjin following, eyes hooded and glassy, the smug look that had been adorning him replaced with a slack jaw.
"Earth to Enjin." You call tapping his cheek, it takes a bit but soon he's straightening up again, blinking the haze from his eyes.
"Look at you. It's like you've never done a shotgun kiss before." You tease, the livewire in your chest now lay quiet, nicotine having wrapped itself around the exposed edges leaving them soft and fuzzy now.
"Do that again."
"What?" You're the one surprised now, staring at Enjin as if he's grown a third eye.
"Do it again, that was fun." He's already pulling you into his room, the cig from before already at his lips disappearing in a fit of embers, as he takes a deep drag.
"Wait! You said you didn't have anymore." You try to protest even though your feet carry you over the threshold.
"I lied." He grins, voice deep with held smoke, and like a period at the end of a sentence, he shuts his door, sealing your fate for the night.
Enjin watched you. You watched Flora. Flora slept like she hadn't been crying her lungs out fifteen minutes ago.
Arkha had given you two months to find her a suitable home, and as the adult who found her, it had fallen on your shoulders to find said home, which hadn't seemed like much of an issue that is until the three musketeers had decided they wanted to join in on the interviews.
Now, that wasn't the issue. Zanka, Rudo, and Riyo all had good instincts and were smart in their special way, which led to some very good questions. Which then led to thinning out the herd of prospective families. No, the issue was that they tended to fight over Flora like an infant version of hot potato she'd been passed from giver to giver until the poor thing was left overwhelmed, overstimulated, and crying so loud you were sure Canvas Town could hear her.
When that happened she was quickly dropped into your arms and the three stooges would disappear like the little shits they lovingly were it was that that led to where you were now, overwhelmed, overstimulated, and crying quietly so as to not wake the baby.
"You eaten?" Enjin asks after a beat walking into your room closing the door, you catch a glimpse of the stooges peaking in guiltily before it latches close.
You stop rocking Flora turning to look at him with glassy tired eyes. "Last night..." you whispered, it was well past noon now. Enjin sighs and takes her from you pushing you towards the bathroom.
"Go take a shower, I'll watch her."
"You said you weren't going to take care of a baby, that it wasn't your scene." You argue, trying to reach for her.
When you had gone to Arkha he'd been adamant about not being involved. You had the rest of Akuta and the others in HQ who had flocked to "help" with the baby, but even he couldn't stand by and keep seeing you slowly slip into neglect.
"I know what I said," he twirled you around and led you to the bathroom. "I'm not taking care of her; I'm taking care of you, big difference." And to him, it was. You were his partner, love of his life and all that, and if it meant he had to swallow his pride and "watch" the tiny human, then he'd swallow his pride and "watch" the tiny human.
After that things change Enjin is adamant that you be the first to shower, the first to eat, taking Flora away with one arm only to replace her with food or a nudge to bed. You've woken at night to see him feeding or rocking her; he doesn't know you see him whispering to her. He even goes as far as gathering Akuta and having Tomme make a "schedule" and a baby rules pamphlet, leaving you with more time for yourself and a calmer baby by the end of the day. The team even begins taking over more interviews. However, all that effort doesn't change the fact that you're still in charge of diaper changes.
Six weeks later
You're looking through files in your room with Flora in your arms. She's gumming away at a toy when Rudo bursts in. "WE FOUND A FAMILY FOR FLORA!!!" he yells. He doesn't sound happy. You're about to answer when you see Enjin's hand land a solid smack on Rudo's head.
"Tsk, what a brat. He's been arguing and pouting the whole way back" He plants a solid kiss on you, "Trash beast mission was a success, find Itty bitty a fam a success." They don't wait to hear what you have to say; they just start giving you the details.
Apparently the Mayor of Canvas Town had caught the team outside of Remlin's shop on their way to their mission, on their walk back to the gate he had begun to explain how things had changed with Remlin. Turned out he and his wife had decided to take in the young artist after Gob's passing. Their attempt to give the young girl some kind of support network without outright pushing her into adoption and their attempt at making a family. Months later, whispers reached the town: news was that The Cleaners, Team Akuta to be specific, were keeping a baby and instead of relinquishing said baby to the Hell Guard for family placement or one of the neighboring city's orphanages, they had taken it upon themselves to find a suitable family.
"Wait what are you saying?" You cut in grabbing Enjin's arm looking from him to Rudo you like your boyfriend said sat pouting on your bed.
"Mr. and Mrs. Mayor wants to adopt her, apparently Remlin made them realize they really want to have a family." It's Rudo who replies, voice low, sulking. Out of all of Team Akuta and HQ, he'd been the most reluctant about adopting out Flora. "But why can't we keep her!? We found her first, so she's ours, right? Finder's keepers and all that shit!"
Enjin sighs, taking Flora.
"Rudo, sweetheart," you kneel to look at him he's trying not to blush at the endearment even in his frustration."If things were different, then keeping her could be something we could go over, but HQ isn't a place for a baby. She can't watch over herself or protect herself like Dear can, and even with everyone helping, it wouldn't be fair to her to pass her from person to person." You hold his cheek, making him look at you. He doesn't like what you're saying but knows you have a point.
"The Mayor is a good man you know he is he's stood up for Remlin and he's alway done his best for Canvas Town and us, his wife is a good woman too I hear. Flora deserves to be with people who can dedicate their love and time to her more than we can."
"-And it's not like we're never going to see the brat anyway. Rem's bound to drag her here when she's old enough, and it's not like we don't go to town on the regular for charms." Enjin interjects, and you nod with a grin.
"We'll be her extended family," you say. Rudo looks at you both and finally nods giving you his blessings.
When the day comes to finalize the adoption, it's of course Akuta that delivers her to her new family, and though it's the Mayor and his growing family that are the ones adopting her, it's more than clear to see that all of Canvas Town is taking her in. The three stooges try not to cry as you give Flora to the Mayor's wife; you and she don't dare wipe away the tears. Enjin, on the other hand, smiles gratefully, his eyes shining just a bit.
"Y'know, maybe after all this shit calms down, we can try for one," he whispers to you outside the Mayor's house in a moment of calm. He and his wife had been adamant you stay the night. Flora's welcome home had extended out into the town, resulting in a huge celebration similar to Gob's fairwell.
"Tsk, aren't the three stooges enough?" You laugh kissing him, his wince is answer enough. Wait for the children to be older, though it's not a no.

Not All Are Trash.
This was not how today was supposed to go. You were supposed to have a day off, a day off where you were going to restock on snacks, hygiene products, essential clothes, and after convincing Enjin to give you more money, clothes for Rudo, maybe even a sweet treat. It was not supposed to end up with you in some sketchy alley trying to convince Rudo of all people to hand you the bundle he was holding onto for dear life.
"What's wrong with people?" He seethed. "Why—why would they do this? They're just like tho-those Sphereite assholes!" He didn't look at you as he glared down at the bundle, and he didn't have to.
In the months you had come to know the boy, fought alongside him, and cared for him, you had become familiar with the hateful murderous look he always had when he raged about the Sphere but what you saw when he acknowledged you broke your heart. Fat heavy tears ran from gleaming ruby eyes. Never had you seen him cry, never even seen his lip wobble in a whisper of sadness.
"There's nothing wrong with it. They're not sick, they're not like me—not like me. They're not trash. So why—why?" His voice warbled; your heart shattered.
"Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry," you sighed, not knowing what to say gently taking him into your arms, comforting him with the little baby held between you.
"Let's go to Alice's, go from there, yeah?" you whispered into his hair, feeling the baby wriggle. They'd been so still and quiet you'd worried they were dead.
Rudo nodded, letting you take his free hand and lead, but refusing to hand over the infant. Regto had found him and raised him; it didn't take a trash beast scientist to know how Rudo related to the baby.
That's where Enjin found you after his call asking where you had disappeared to. He looked displeased, shoulders squared, eyes hard.
You'd beein waiting for him outside the clinic, leaving Rudo inside with the baby for Alice and, surprisingly, Eisha to explain how someone could abandon their baby. Postpartum Depression, drugs, mental health all had been brought up. How receptive he was to the information, you could only guess.
"What were you thinking?" Enjin looked at your hands grasping Umbreaker's neck, a sliver of space between you and it.
He was supposed to be cool and collected, letting things roll off his back, not this hard, no-nonsense man. This was not a side he showed freely. The news that Rudo and you had picked up a baby had really thrown him. Whether it was the knowledge that a baby had been abandoned or that he had made the correct assumption about you and the little one wanting to take the other little one with you, you once again could only guess.
"Fuck Enjin's going to hate this. Fuck it, he brought the half-rabid Spherite teen home. Now it's my turn." He blinks, jowl slacken, and you can't help but smile gently as he rubs his head and brings it to rest on your shoulder. No-nonsense man, tucked away. "This isn't a half-rabid Spherite teen; this is an infant, (name). We're not equipped to raise an infant, and don't bring Dear into this; he's ten."
"We're not going to raise Flora; we're just fostering her until we find a family or someone to adopt her."
"Ah, fuck, you named it?!"
"Her and Rudo said she was as pretty as a flower." And you comb your fingers through his hair, appeasing him just a little.
"That's still bad. Everyone knows once you name it, you end up keeping it. I should know; I'm the one who finds the strays."
"Her, and this just means that Rudo is following in some of your footsteps. Now c'mon, let's meet Akuta's temporary member."
"That doesn't make me feel better." He whispered dramatically but followed suit.

⚠️WARNINGS: Mentions of injury, scar pain, some iffy author writing. ⚠️
Gris felt horrible, like he was taking advantage of something that was too good to be true. But as much as he told himself he wouldn't agree again, there he would be, his resolve shattered to a million pieces the moment you'd ask him if you'd be seeing him later that night, face flushed with blush.
Enjin and Tomme would even tease him endlessly, going on about you having a crush, you wanting to spoil him. Really though, to him it felt like the other way around; he wanted that time with you, he was the one with the years-long crush.
You were their secondary healer, more like a physical therapist. While Eishia healed their initial wounds, you'd be the one to oversee their continued healing, making sure they could return to the field without overwhelming themselves. With you and Eishia, it was like having the best of the best when it came to medical intervention.
Your vital instrument allowed you to heal through physical touch, like aided mobility exercises or massages. Anything from simple bruising to torn tendons and nerves could be healed, or on rare occasions, poison could be extracted.
That's what you had been doing on him after his run in with Jabber. The Mankira scars had more than left their mark, even after Eishia's healing the poison he had "administered" had slowed the process to the point that you had taken direct charge of overseeing his progress.
But that had happened months ago, and Eishia had cleared him weeks ago. You knew she had because you had been there too; you'd even cheered alongside the others when it had happened.Yet a few days later, you had asked him if you'd be seeing him that night to help with his scars. Dumbly, he had agreed, not realizing he had because he'd been trying to build his courage to ask you out.
Which then turned into what it was now, with you walking up to him every few weeks and asking him again, and him agreeing...again. But now it had gone on for so long that he'd started to feel bad because, as much as he knew it had to end eventually, he didn't want it to.
"Alright, mister!" You tapped him gently, a soft hand on his back. "Time for the other half." Gris breathed slowly; you'd brought him back from his thoughts.
It was another night with you running your hands down his side, making him feel like he was in heaven even though it was raining and cold outside.
When he finally decided to move it was to look over his shoulder, taking you in. You had a soft smile and a blush on your cheeks, and your eyes were even softer as you met his. He was so enraptured by you that he could see the moment dread flowed into you the moment he opened his mouth, something he didn't realize he'd done until you'd shrunk back.
"I can't do this anymore," he'd muttered, adrenaline and guilt lacing his words.
"I'm-I'm sorry?" You muttered back. You looked like you'd been shocked, physically and mentally. You were standing so stiff and away from him.
"I can't do this anymore," he said again pushing himself to sit up.
"I'm so sorry [Name], I just- I've taken advantage of you and of your kindness for to long and it's not right." He didn't want to look at you feeling that if he did he'd only see your disgust at the revelation.
"You're a beautiful person who's done so much for me already, healing me and taking such good care of me after all this time, but Eishia said I was all healed, yet you're still here, still taking care of me and I can't do that anymore, you deserve better." Gris ran his hands through his hair, shaking with tension.
"Oh, you're so silly." You giggled closing the distance, you took his hands.
"But if you're reacting like this then that means Eish never told you." Gris turned to you, confused, this was not what he had expected and just as if you were reciting a weather report you tell him.
"Scars as bad as the Mankira ones can continue to hurt even after the wound has healed, mostly when the weather turns. We, she and I agreed that it would be good if we kept up the massages and physical therapy until a bit more time had passed, since it can help with the discomfort."
And all Gris can do is stare at you, stare at the floor, your hands in his, and back at you feeling like the biggest fool, there he was thinking that he was taking advantage of you when in reality you had just been doing your job, seemed like Enjin and Tomme were wrong too.
"Y'know, you go so far to keep the others safe, we all know how strong you are but I also think you and we forget that you deserve to rest properly too." You where making him blush now.
"I like taking care of you, so please don't ever believe you're taking advantage. On the contrary, please let me keep taking care of you." Gris felt as if you had stuck a firework in his chest, watching you as you took a deep breath and straightened. The look you returned at him was full of determination and hope.
"Not just when you're hurt, but um—but every day, with the little things and the big things, until you grow sick of me." You were blushing again, no, not blushing, you were absolutely crimson, but you didn't dare stop.
"I like taking care of you, not just because you're my friend and a good man, but because I—because I—I...love...you...." Your voice trailed off as if you had been hit with the revelation the moment you had spoken it, as if you had just come back to yourself with the confession you hadn't meant to speak out loud.
Gris really felt like you had set that firework in him now. He felt more like he was a teenager getting to experience a love confession for the first time, to the point that he couldn't help but laugh out happily.
And as you tried to step away, embarrassment written across your face, his laughter bounced off the clinic wall. You thought it was mean-spirited, but like you had said, he was a strong man who at that moment used it gently to pull you back towards him with gentle hands on your elbows.
"You really know how to make my heart stop don't you?" Gris said pressing his forehead to yours, making you meet his eyes that shone with adoration.
"Here you are calling me strong but you're the one with the strength to confess how you feel, while I've been acting like a fool wondering if someone like you could love me back like I do." His words made you relax as they sunk into you realizing that his laughter hadn't been malicious.
"I love you too, [name]." He said confidently placing a hand on your cheek and a gentle kiss on your lips making you melt.
"I love you, Gris." You whispered back absolutely elated at how a little misunderstanding could bring you two here.
In his youth, Zodyl was never one to celebrate his birthday. Something that was meant to celebrate someone's birth and life had been contaminated, twisted into some vile celebration to the Sphere and the waste rained from it. As an adult, he was adamant about continuing his disregard for the day until he met you. You had been his first in many regards: his first follower, companion, friend, and lover. You were also the first to have ever given him a birthday gift there was no fanfare just a quiet hand off after a night together; it was the cuff he wears now that you had placed in his hand that night. He knew why he'd been given it, though you hadn't said the words. It was from that day that the "tradition" began small gifts given in momentsof silence not alwaysthe same but all accepted without a word, but traditions have a way of changing and growing, just like you two had and just like your circle of people had. He's reminded of that now, as you sat on his lap, breaking him from his thoughts, you have no fear of him.
"What is that?" He hisses. He sounds displeased; looks it too but the gentleness of the hand on your thigh says otherwise, his thumb rubs slow calculated circles on your skin, hes curious.
"Your birthday gift...from them." you say with glee. When the group had called you to the kitchen, you had expected another mess thanks to whatever Fu or Jabber had cooked up. Instead, what you had walked into was the Raiders standing around the island counter, a birthday cake set front and center.
"My, oh my, what a lovely surprise," you had giggled. "What's this for?" The group looked at one another nervously.
While you were the "gentler" of the raiders kept at base by Zodyl's orders—the calm to his storm, kept safe until ordered otherwise—you were still somewhat feared and highly respected. You were, after all, his partner and it showed in times like this.
It was Bundus who stepped forward, hat held nervously, as he explained that though they were just subordinates to their leader (something you knew was a lie), they, on the other hand, had come to highly respect him. So, in a temporary show of mutual agreement, they had decided to show their appreciation by getting him a cake—a cake. Your ragtag group of feared raiders, who, mind you, could just barely get along, had gotten Zodyl Typhon a birthday cake.
Now here you were sitting on his lap with a slice of cake held between you, Jabber had even bounded after you to stick colorful candle on it.
"Get rid of it." Zodyl hissed again turning away from the gift but you simply shifter closer and with your free hand turned him towards you.
"Don't throw this away, darling. These people have come to respect you. You have given them what others haven't: a purpose, somewhere to belong...a home." You told him, "Just this once, for a moment, let them celebrate you." Again you pressed you lips to his, your way of convincing him.
Zodyl growled lowly thick fingers tangling into your hair as he deepend the kiss; what a show the group must be getting.
"Be grateful for the concession I give you." He took the slice and without ceremony ate the whole thing in just a few bites. You laughed playfully riling him up, and set the empty aside in clear view of the ajar door that slowly shut. It didn't go unnoticed by your partner, who glowered, his fingers now digging into your soft flesh.
"Now, now, don't look at me like that. It's my turn now to give you my gift." You sighed and straddled him, lips already pulling kisses from him.
Outside in the hall, the group looked at one another again, pleased with their gift, and slowly dispersed, though poor Cthoni had to go back for Jabber, the perv.
Though Zodyl isn't my top favorite character I still thought I'd write him a birthday post. Also how is this guy 23 in the manga and anime? Anyway happy birthday Z!!
