Prompt 7: “Forgiven”

Just say you’re sorry. You acted outrageously.

Tali curled up in the plush chair, pouting like a child would. Her ears were pinned down and her tail closely wrapped around her. She was mulling over the words that had been told to her the day prior, still far from happy at the situation.

It was his fault anyway, going around with those kinds of people. He always was like that. And she had meant every word she had said…. at the time.

It was always ‘at the time’ though, wasn’t it? If she sat down and thought about it, then she could easily see that it was her that was at fault. She had no control over his life, and had little-to-no-say in it either. Still, it bothered her. Every time, it bothered her, and she knew exactly why.

She didn’t want him to leave. She didn’t like seeing him leave. Didn’t want to watch as he turned his back and wandered away for months, or more, without even a word to a why or when he’d return… if he’d return. 

But that’s not how it would be in the end, would it? He said he wouldn’t, and she could trust him, couldn’t she? 

He didn’t lie to her. He never lied to her, not when it really came down to it.

She didn’t want him to go.

Just say you’re sorry.

Slowly, she took in a breath, and looked down into her hands where the linkpearl rested. She mulled over it, preparing herself, before finally raising the device back up to her ear. Resting it in place, she would tap into the appropriate frequency, then call out.

“Gaeb?”

Something hella unexpected.

A doodle I started when hanging out in Aggie io and then managed to salvage out to CSP for coloring.

A heavy box and a small letter

Dad,

Gae’briel came to visit today, and he was telling me all about what’s been going on lately. Hope you’re doing alright, even though I haven’t gotten a letter from you in awhile. It’s okay. I only hold it against you a little bit. I still love you, I guess.

Anyroad, training has been real good here in Ul’dah. I keep headbutting things, which Gae’briel said I was lucky since I was already an idiot so I wasn’t gonna damage anything. I kicked him for that, because if anyone is the idiot, it’s him. He also was the reason I accidentally headbutted a pole, because he just stalked up behind me and surprised me, then of course I looked real stupid in front of everyone. On the good side of things, i’ve been doing real good at all the other teachings. I can flip someone twice my size over one shoulder, no problem now! Not that it was so hard, but it’s a lot easier now. I should show you the trick to it, unless you already know how to do that, then I guess it’s not so much news to you.

I hope everything's going good with business and all or what not. I’d like to come sailing sometime again, if I could, but i’ve been real busy trying to pass all the tests and stuff, I sorta wonder if i’m ever gonna be out of Ul’dah again. I do come and visit Limsa Lominsa once in awhile when I can get away, but I usually tell Gae’briel since he’s a lot less busy than you are, you know. I don’t mind either. I’m sure you’re seeing lots of pretty women and maybe interesting things, but I can’t really tell.

You should write me more.

I found a cooking class here where they taught how to make these good meat buns as well. They’re sorta spicy, but they’re really tasty and super easy to make. I gave Gae’briel a whole box full and I told him to take them back to you so you could have one too, but I don’t think he’ll actually bring them back. That’s why i’m sending you a whole box of them. That’s ten of them. Try not to eat them in one sitting, because they’ll give you a upset stomach.

I miss you.
