I love how the minute Cody left that is the time when everyone chooses to shoot their shot at the Emperor (were any of those attempts by the vent resident trying to drop a piano on him XD)

I firmly believe the security in that place would fall apart without 2224 there to keep it in tiptop shape. Cuz we know Vader can handle problems, but he can’t prevent them.

Our local vent resident may wish death upon the emperor, but they’re not dumb enough to try anything without causing themselves harm. So they’ve resorted to simple but effective terrorizing in the form of a la sleep paralysis demon.

poking my head in because im rereading Cin Vhetin for i think the fifth time, and just wanted to say how much I love your characterizations. you're so good at exploring and developing the nuances, flaws, and philosophies of the characters. especially skirata and vau. and i love what you do with luke. probably one of my favorite mandalorian centered fics of all time

I'm so happy to hear both that you've reread that series FIVE WHOLE TIMES and that you are still enjoying the characterisations! Skirata and Vau are both fascinating guys, and I think I have a post on here somewhere about how they're examples of really amazing character work on the original author's part, so I had a lot of good material to work with, and I enjoyed poking them in different directions. Luke was also fun to write and I enjoyed figuring out the philosophical underpinnings of his role in the story and especially his trial on Ilum.

I only have Cody, Rex and Domino Squad sketched out, but I intend to eventually do more of these.

I really liked the idea of Domino Squad being a bit of a hydra deal because 1) it's hard to coordinate when every single head is trying to do its own thing and 2) the loss of Hevy, Cutup and Droidbait is worse.

How did Fox get that scar over his nose?

cw/ for violence! He got it when a kid of one of the senators was kidnapped. The kid was visiting his parent when a bounty hunter kidnapped him. Fox sent a squad after him but they didn’t catch him. The whole squad was just brutally murdered when Fox found them and he just lost it. So he went after the bounty hunter himself (something that Thorn almost didn’t forgive him because what the hell Fox, we are a team) and he managed to found him and the unharmed but unconscious kid. It lead to an intense fight, during which he lost his helmet and the bounty managed to slice his face with a vibro blade. In the end it was Fox who won the fight and shot the bastard. He knew he should have bring the bounty hunter back alive to the prison. But he also knew how corrupt the senat is and that the bounty could be free again, so he decided to avenge his brothers, saying that he had no other choice but to kill the bounty in the defence of the kid’s life. The senator was angry at him because how he could let the bounty take his kid in the first place and why was he dead. But Fox didn’t care, he got his revenge.  He could have healed it with bacta but he said it would be just a waste. He left it as a memory of the murdered squad of his brothers.  Sorry this is so angsty and thank you for the ask! I love talking about corrie boys! <3

Pssssstt 14 with Fox and Cody

Causing them pain again because it's what I do

Fox’s eyes roll back the moment the door closes.

“Shit, Fox.”

Cody darts forward, catching Fox just in time to keep him from cracking his head against the desk. Without his armor, he’s light and easy enough to lower to the floor, and Cody props him against his bunk with a hand already at his throat checking his pulse. Fast, thready. He’s warm.

“Dammit, Fox’ika, what did you do to yourself?”

Fox blinks up at him with hazy, half-lidded eyes. He smiles, but it’s weak, and Cody wants to smack him for even trying. “‘M doin’ my job, Kote.” He lets his head flop into Cody’s hand. “Doin’ my job.”

“You’re killing yourself, di’kut.” Cody pushes his bangs up off his forehead, checking his temperature more carefully before pushing his hand through Fox’s hair, mindful of the knots. “When was the last time you slept?”

“Dunno,” Fox slurs, leaning into Cody’s touch. “Was s’pposed’o, then you needed… needed help with…” He flaps his hand vaguely, like he can’t remember the mission they just finished. Something in his expression crumples, and tears spring into his eyes. “Sorry.”

Cody takes a deep, grounding breath. He wishes Kenobi hadn’t just left. He could use some Jedi serenity right about now. “Okay. Okay, it’s alright, Fox, you didn’t do anything wrong.” He leans back, disentangling himself from the clammy hands that reach out and cling to him. “Let’s get you in bed, alright? We’ve got time to rest.”
