We Feed The World
From the deserts of Ethiopia to disused carparks in Milwaukee, the series of more than 200 images capture the faces, landscapes and stories of the man and women who produce the majority of the world’s food supply. Their stories will introduce us to the myriad of ways in which sustainable agriculture works and help us to understand the positive impact it has on our health, environment, culture and societies.
It’s a privilege to work with the amazing Graciela Iturbide and the Gaia Foundation on our project, We Feed the World photographing the farmers of Comunidad Ejidal of San Isidro, Mexico. From indigenous heritage they are committed to grow food, especially maize and its associated diversity, beans, squashes and pumpkin, tomatoes, medicinal herbs, in a system called “milpa” in México or “chacra” in South America.
