Just a lovely chat...

"Greetings, strangers on the internet that are across the galaxy. As some of you all have noticed, it's been a while since I have left Planet Pop Star and that is because I have been taking a short break. The reason for my sudden unannounced break is that I've been feeling quite let down ever since my previous trip last year due to some minor problems I've encountered that I won't go into full detail and I've missed Pop Star for a while. Don't worry, I have plans to do another travelling around the galaxy again and I may revisit a few planets soon. Everything has been quite peaceful for the last several months here in Pop Star. I usually would visit a few of my friends, notably Sir Meta Knight and Kirby, just for chats or a quick little spar (just in case I ever have to fight again). I'd occassionally come across a few fans asking for either a photo with me or my autograph. I've also scrolled through the Internet and it's very wholesome to find out that I have more and more supporters and fans from across the galaxy, despite my hiatus. Thanks a lot of you guys for your support and for patiently waiting for me to return back to touring. I'll see you guys soon. Here's a photo that I took of me with Kirby. Regardless of what mrax done to galacta Knight is there at least a chance that Kirby still see him as his father or at least they have a strong bond of friendship

When Kirby found out that Galacta Knight is his father he didn't hesitate to accept him into his life, but it wasn't all sunshine and flowers.

They were reunited after the events of the games took place, Kirby lived basically his entire life without a parent in his life and Galacta Knight didn't know how to handle being the father to a child he hardly knew. At first he was too overprotective not realizing that Kirby could take care of himself. It was awkward for everyone involved and bystanding friends of Kirby's.

Galacta Knight had some long conversations with Meta Knight to learn more about Kirby's past, how he grew up by himself raised by the people of Dreamland rather than a solid family union and took care of himself all this time. He found out about all the adversaries Kirby faced in the past, most of which he defeated all on his own. Kirby wasn't a helpless baby, but a strong independent individual who lived on his own and ran his own household for years despite his young age.

Another issue was that Galacta Knight was out of touch with modern society which resulted in Kirby teaching him more than the other way around. Kirby was more than happy to show him around, patiently explaining everything there was to know. Meanwhile Galacta Knight told Kirby about the ancient past, his adventures, how he defeated Nightmare and Void and how Kirby came to be in the first place, about Marx and Halcandra, yet he hesitated to mention anything about the Galactic Crisis and how and why he got sealed away and how he spent the last few aeons locked away believing that everyone he once loved was dead.

What mattered most to Galacta Knight was that Kirby accepted him into his life regardless and didn't change his mind upon finding out that he did bad things in the past. Kirby is not the kind of person who would reject someone who genuinely wishes to be friends. Galacta Knight is proud of who he has become, even if he had little influence on his life. What matters most is that Kirby is living a happy and fulfilled life.

rereading Little Stray Feathers by Maternal_Macrophage / @egginfroggin on tumblr) again, so I decided to finally draw some old thoughts I had :)

I forget which chapter it was, but Meta remarked that the wind stings his face when GK flies with him. In the fic, there's no hint of when Meta might get his mask, but I thought it'd be a cute hypothetical for Meta to get it as a gift to help with the stinging :)

I'm still deciding how I want to draw Galacta's hair, but I recycled the braid from these drafts for some cute bonding :)

ofc! ^^ it's the main Thing, i'm always willing to talk about galactadad (animeverse flavored this time)!

i think something really strange that's been happening to me recently is that as my hcs evolve, i haven't dropped the galactadad love even a little bit but i have gravitated toward galacta knight being a worse person if that makes sense? so i end up in this weird spot where i cannot in good faith say he is a paragon of good sincere love nor is he especially "fatherly" or overall present.

i can't say all that much without spoiling the fics but even though he does love meta a lot, he struggles to grapple with his new identity– one he finds unfamiliar and (despite how much he likes to deny it) repulsive. he'd probably give everything to protect him, but he's also constantly on the verge of hurting him. meta knight is the sort of thing he can't fully value until he's lost it– it's only then that he can understand that the little kid he loved so much and the demon beast he indoctrinated are still essentially the same person. he knows it. but he doesn't understand it.

and ofc there are future situations in which he literally doesn't know– he doesn't recognize him for a wide variety of reasons in lots of different situations (some of which haven't happened in the fics yet ^^). it's in times like these that he's at his most cruel, because he cannot pretend or be apologetic towards meta knight to keep up appearances. he's constantly preforming, and it's when he's not preforming, he's more dangerous than ever.

the preforming kind of works too, because he's in this situation where the whole galaxy idolizes him and meta knight also sees him as his savior. it isn't easy to grapple with the fact that the person you love the most simply isn't very good.
