ml-rant anon here, thx for this opportunity! so, I checked ml out when it was starting to hype n as long as I thought those kids were in fact closer to 20 than anything it seemed ok. The first cringe started when I read ur big y-ml-is-bad post, thx for that btw! I rhinl I wouldn't have noticed all of it. What I did notice was the fatphobia which I haven't seen mentioned yet: There r 2 non-skinny kids and OFC they end up together. P much every non-skinny akumatized person is dehumanized (1/2)

it’s terrible how fat and chubby people hardly ever see representation of their body types in media.. I hope now that media is becoming more progressive, we will see more positive fat representation!!

You can definitely use the idea! I'm glad I could inspire you, and I'll have to check out that au soon. It was prob late 2015 when I saw a different gifset of the second-to-last scene in the one you linked; pretty sure it was just the fall + Chat's grin (def not as gross as most of that set ugh), and for whatever reason I thought it was some animated short about two young women (early 20s-ish) fighting crime and dating, then forgot about it until I was faced with the Really Uncomfortable reality

that’s so unfortunate, im so sorry the show disappointed you in that way. hopefully, no, some day there will be a series (whether comic, cartoon, or slice of life) about two crime fighting women who are in love. if it doesn’t happen, I’ll try my damn hardest to make it happen pal. 

cartoons and media in general need better gay rep. tho it is slowly progressing,

ex: see that disney show with the character who recently came out in an ep, legend of korra, we bare bears [tho still minor, still normalizing gay couples] and more

media needs to try harder to portay lgbt+ positively ppl. im not saying we should be unhappy with what good rep we have, but we need to push for better and more diverse content (ex: racially diverse, disabled, transgender, and interracial couples)

while media’s certainly come a long way, poc and disabled people are still struggling for positive rep, even outside lgbt+ characters. it’s up to us to push for this rep, even if we are white we should all stand up for each other because we are a very colourful diverse community.

Concerning all of the Miraculous Ladybug pedophilia/child porn/etc., the characters are all in tenth grade, as stated in one of the episodes. Someone in tenth grade would be 15. Fifteen is the legal age of consent in France, where the show takes place. When the guy on the show said that he was okay with the NSFW stuff, he was looking at it through that lens. In France, it wouldn't be child porn. To clarify my opinions, I am in no way, shape, or form condoning child porn or pedophilia, but the

Also, in regards to the transformation scenes, yes, I’ll agree that they are a bit over the top, however, have you /seen/ the transformation scenes for other things? (Looking at you, Sailor Moon!) At least in ML their clothes simply change, rather than completely disappear for the majority of the transformation scene! Also, concerning the “zooming in on her butt,” it actually zooms in on her hip as her yoyo thing appears

Pt. 3 I mean, yeah, the outfits are tight and all, but seriously? Take a look at some of the other things anime heroines get put in. Comparatively, it could be a lot worse. At its core, the show is a cute story about people who save the world while clumsily trying to navigate high school (the way we all do), dealing with life’s problems, having fun with friends, and having awkward crushes and being oblivious in the way that teenagers so often are. It’s a good show.

the characters were originally in middle school. even if they’re in high school they shouldn’t be dressed in such tight outfits. it doesn’t matter what the aoc is in france, marinette and chat should be attracted to each other with out dressing so veluptuosly. and how wouldn’t it be cp?? they’re still minors regardless of the aoc.

and yes, it is a cute show. but that doesn’t justify it’s sexualization of minors.
