So uh... I've been doodling the silly little swap au lately

Wanted to try a pass at both the prince and the heroine.

For the prince, I was mainly trying to translate bird aspects of the hero into the prince. Aka, hooked nose, pointed hat to act like a beak, the feather trim on the cape and ofc his raven hair. I also really like the idea of his face or at least one of his eyes always being obscured by something. Kinda like in the original, how his face is never officially shown. (Unless I'm wrong lol)

As for the heroine, I turned her into a chimera (a combo of lion and goat mostly) and drew inspo from different forms of hers. Mainly the adversary (strong build & first tail), witch (cat-like behavior & second tail), beast (lioness/monster form), den (trio of horns)

That's all I got for now ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

(Might figure out a few interaction doodles or the voices later idk, we'll see)

Oh, deconstructed damsel route, how I love you for being a commentary on how women are often written as a flat 2d stereotype and point out how absurd the reality of it is. Oh, how I adore that you point out the importance of making characters feel alive by giving them drives & and motives, especially for women who are poorly written and seen as an extension of a man rather than they're own being.

Ahem, anyways, I really like this route & def wanna explore it more later on. Time to read up on poorly written male characters ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Ps. Yes, the heroine still loves him. She's just taken by surprise at this gesture bc she's not used to being given flowers bc she's often seen as this big scary monster that's to be feared.
