There is something terribly wrong with the woman before him; her Ki feels strange to him to the point he’s fairly positive she’s not human for all she looks it. It’s enough to have the fur on his tail bristling in an ill contained agitation, tip twitching in reminiscence of an agitated cat.

Trunks is a wary sort, distrustful in nature due to everything that had happened in his life. It’s really not personal, but he can’t help but regard her carefully in an attempt to measure how much of a threat she might be to him or others if she tried. “Are you lost...?” That would be a better end to this meeting.

   Strange as it is to openly question things -- something he stopped doing a long time ago; you don’t question a Galra Commander or any of your ‘ superiors ’ -- he’s grown aware that he has some more freedom here than he’s used to. ‘ Freedom ’ is a laughable choice of word, of course, but it’s the only one that fits when you feel at least somewhat less afraid to speak up or ask questions than you have been for probable years. He’s nothing more than a weapon to her, just as he was to the Galra, but she’s less concerned about keeping him in line than they were. There are some liberties he seems to be allowed here, though it’s something that’s taking time to adjust to, and courage to test.

Cautious eyes flit over to her figure as his arm deactivates and he stands back up, the last of her foes at his feet. He turns to her, faces her, but doesn’t meet her gaze -- a mix of habit and a lack of wanting to peer in to those cold eyes.

          “ How is any of this fun for you? ”

Actually, it was fair to say he had been eyeing the bauble rather intimately. The Orlesians did little as a collective to impressive him, but the shoppes of Val Royeaux were never without the glitter of overpolished rarities. Where the heart yearned his funds severely lacked, so he could only browse; feasting with his eyes and letting the satisfaction remain... well, dissatisfied. 

A maudlin realization that the sensation was one he was accustomed to.

“Maker, what does it matter?” The hissed start of Tevene sharpened his voice like a whetstone. “Our charge will be arriving momentarily, we haven’t the time for talking about this.”

her  grip  is  tight  and  each  breath  is  getting  harder  to  draw  in.   he  has  a hand  on  her  wrist,  connected  to  the  hand  that’s  clasped  around  his neck.  a  human  bounty  hunter  can  only  do  so  much  with  a  space  pirate   –   let  alone  one  that  can  go  through  walls.   through  grit  teeth  he  draws in  the scarce  oxygen.    “  feels l–like …  the  fun’s  just  starting,  “   a  leg  swiftly  draws  up  and  he  plants  a foot  to  her  chest;  he  pries  her  grasp  from  his  throat  while  summing  up  strength  in  his  leg  to  kick  her  back.       @galacticdemon​

——-♜ Missions were normal. Something that Killua took often so that he’d have money to be able to provide not only for himself but for his little sister as well. What wasn’t normal was the fact he had to do this mission with someone else.

          Grumbling to himself Killua walks up to the door where his “partner” was supposed to be. He had seen this girl around, collecting missions herself. But he hadn’t ever gone on one with her. With a huff pale fingers knock on the front door before finding themselves back into clothed pockets. Supposedly there was this huge mafia lord that was rather hard to track. The details entailed getting some information without killing him. How boring. Eventually the door opens, revealing the girl. “Hey, I’m Killua, your partner.”
