Getting contacted by a journalist was never good. Politicians and journalists were very similar. It was about having information, trading it and reaching goals. Politians and journalists also needed each other. Journalists want to deliver interesting material to their readers and politicians want publicity. Good publicity, preferably. More often than not, the publicity was not good though.

The “Galactic Gossip” was boulevard and not known for offering good publicity. In fact Padmé sometimes found herself reading the outrageous but very amusing “news” they published in her spare time. She usually scolded herself right afterwards, she shouldn’t be endorsing such terrible journalism but what can she say? It helps pass the time. And she was nosy. So Padmé was fine, as long as the magazine kept its distance from her.

Imagine her nervousness when Miria Daraay got in touch with her and requested a meeting. Why Padmé? What did she do lately? Or rather, what did she do that could be of any interest to the readers of “Galactic Gossip”? She paced in her office, where Padmé had requested the meeting to take place. Her office in the Senate was a professional, neutral place. Most importantly, it held no sign of her marriage.
