Hailey clutched the stock of her gun, and watched--the hand gripping wooden desk slowly gave way to shaking head, torso, frame, until she was staring directly at Mutatio Lucrum. He pulled himself up, leaned on the table, frame just left of the floating city that slowly swam into view. He stared at her, backlit by the lights that filtered through the dome, and sighed. "You do not know what you are trying to stop, Miss White. You have gotten involved in something much more complex than you," Maheen said, and gave a quiet cough that seemed to make the edges of his existence fray. "You seem to think of me as destruction. You are wrong." He lifted his face, gazed right at her, and she could see the stars in the distance burning through his cracked sunglasses. "I am trying to stop destruction. To quell entropy," he continued, and Hailey took a step back. "But if you want the end of the world?" Maheen straightened, adjusted his tie. The corners of her vision seemed strange--she scanned around the dome, and realised that pockets of black matter were giving into themselves, folding away to nothingness, to pure white. She found herself afraid, and she found the Developer laughing. "Then I will give you the end of the world."
/ / / / ...hey, y’all. it’s been two years, to the day, since i’ve started bothering you about the sci-fi sprawl that is ‘Galaxy Run’. you’ve been by my side every step of the way, and i’m so grateful i have such a supportive group of friends. here’s a little commemorative piece, though i’m no artist.
thank you so, so much.
@littlelovegod . my first mate, and by far the most... ah, hah, involved. thank you for letting me rubber duck, and for falling madly in love.
@bitchykuromi my good friend. you were the first i told things to, and i still cherish you madly.
@abyssal-glory thank you for listening to things you might not understand, and for supporting me like nothing else.
@gupppie you were open to every idea, and you wanted to hear everything. that was the first time i ever felt welcome. thank you for also falling in love.
the lord handed me an opportunity to draw punk stoker (thanks, @littlelovegod) and i couldn’t stop until i’d taken it
