kihyun had never considered himself to be outgoing (regardless of whether or not it was true). that was why his new status as a nova trainee frightened him, though, at the same time, it also excited him. it was a new experience, something he could adapt to with time—while things would undoubtedly feel confusing and difficult at first, he liked to believe that he’d grow accustomed to it with the passage of time. the first step he knew to take was getting to know the other trainees, though some introductions he overthought more than others.

"oh, uh, hey,” he greeted, hoping that he wouldn’t embarrass himself too much during their conversation (if it could even be called that yet). “i’m kind of new here—well, not kind of new, i’m definitely new here—so i just thought i’d introduce myself.” light, almost embarrassed laughter sounded from within him as he rubbed the back of his neck, though it soon subdued as he lowered his hand back to his side. “i’m kihyun, and it’s, uh... nice to meet you.”
