I really enjoy playing as a healer in WoW mainly, but certain actions and unjustified blaming really takes the fun out of it. I have noticed it also made me...less kind over the course of weeks, simply because I cannot handle all the crap you get over literally nothing sometimes. Before I barely made it into a dungeon, the entire instance group was spread out, all over the place, tank didn't hold aggro so I died. And guess what? I was the dumbass for not healing when I was -dead-.
To be honest it’s a plague of a mindset in pm any MMO with a dedicated healer role. And it’s the reason a lot of people just hate playing healers. It’s just not fun being the party punching bag when things go wrong. Not fun being taken for granted because the tank thinks they control the pace. Not fun when the DPS just expect heals to happen while they’re ignoring mechanics. Not fun being expected to carry people and their bad gameplay then be blamed for everything when you simply can’t be God.
Hence why I’ve been playing more DPSs now.
