At this point, the only word Europa could think to describe themselves right now was exhausted. Order missions were not something they enjoyed like the others, certainly not like Kingsley, and it showed whenever they went on one. Being a contact was hardly a difficult job most of the time, though, and really, most of it had been waiting, running their own little observational missions, and passing the time however they could.
But Dumbledore’s warning that this would be a mission that could last months was-- both blissfully and horribly-- brought to an abrupt halt. All of which eventually led to Europa sneaking into the manor just before midnight. The house felt cavernous, almost overwhelming, and Europa had to close their eyes for a moment so they weren’t completely frozen by it all.
They went upstairs and took a shower. They washed, dried, and tossed on a dressing gown before wandering around idly as they got their hair in order again. The presence of Galen in the house had honestly and embarrassingly been completely forgotten until they turned into a room and saw him there. They shrieked in surprise and dropped several hair beads they’d been holding to adorn their hair with so they could do the first thing they could think of and cover their face with their hands like that would make Galen somehow forget the utterly embarrassing little scream they’d just let out. “Sorry, sorry!” they said quickly. “I thought you were-- I forgot-- hi.”
