“Honestly, you should have just said someone would be back later, and waved him out the shop.   He’s in here all the time.”  He grinned and shook his head.  “And they say the customer is always right.  That guy isn’t.”   He laughed and nodded. “Yeah, I shouldn’t have to go out for a bit, so your stuck with me.  I mean unless you gotta be somewhere?”  His smile broadened.  For someone who often got hungry, he definitely was guilty of forgetting to actually feed himself.  “You been talking to my mum?”  He laughed again.  “Thanks, what did you bring?”

“I told him that, he kept saying he’d just wait.” Europa laughs. “I’m sure he’s been right bout something at least once in his life. Maybe.” They shake their head. “Nope, I got nowhere to be. Just wanna’ spend some time with you.” They smile. “I have, but  this was my idea. Got some food from the Leaky Cauldron when I went on break.” They pull a box of food from under the front desk. “Your favorite, obviously. I know you, Galen Ollivander. What kind of amateur do you take me for?”

He laughed softly, and quickly moved his gaze from Europa to the customer, who seemed to be getting slightly irate. “Sorry sir.”  He said clearing his throat. Looking at the wand, he nodded his head slowly.  “Yeah, so it is fixable, although you might have to leave it with me.  Should have it sorted out by tomorrow.”   The man seemed to mumble something, although accepted what Galen had to say, and left.  “Well he was an absolute delight.”  Galen said.   “I can see your getting on just fine without me though.”

“Oh yeah, other than the fact that I can’t do anything to actually repair wands or answer questions about them, I’m doing great!” Europa smiles. “He’s been in here  asking me tons of questions all morning, so that’s been  fun. Did you get everything you need? Oh, and I have lunch for you  since I figured you’d forget.  Again.”

“Great, we should do it then. Are you free now?”

“Yeah, I got time. Let’s go!” Europa gestures grandly. “Lead the  way.”

“ You know just what I want to hear, ” Dorcas grinned cheekily at them. “ Fists are more fun. I always condone using these puppies whenever possible, ” she quickly made some jabs into the air with her knuckles. “ Maybe we should start some type of sparring club–I think that could be loads of fun! We can even force Remus to be our first member. ”

Europa laughs.  “That’s the spirit. Oh, Merlin, you think  we could  get him to participate? He’s like a little sack of bones, I’d be worried we’d break them. He could use the training, though. I think we’re all rather dependent  on magic, maybe too much.”

“Yes please! I need some new clothes, I gotta’ spice up my wardrobe for Spring.”

“ And you’re doing an exquisite job–you look absolutely stunning. But how am I supposed to kick ass and take names with this broken chunk of wood? These fists are only capable of so much, Europa. ” Winked Dorcas.

“Thank you, I just got my hair done.” Europa smiles. “They seem pretty capable. You’re just putting the hit back in hit witch.”

“You’ll have to wait for Mr. Ollivander to get back to fix it, I’m really just here to watch the desk and look pretty.”

“I’m sorry, i’m here i’m here!”  He called out, running into the store.  “The younger Ollivander anyway.”   Turning to Europa, he smiled.  “Thanks for keeping an eye on things, you’ve done a great job.   At running everything i mean, and looking…  pretty…. nice.”   He paused and realised a customer was staring at him.   “So…. how can I help?”

“Ah, there he is!” Europa smiles, relieved to see Galen, though relief turns to flattered embarrassment at his compliment. “I’m happy to look pretty nice and keep an eye on things anytime.” They wiggle their shoulders a bit, smile turning to a grin before they hastily back off to let Galen deal with the customer, politely waiting until the man had voiced his grievance about his malfunctioning wand before they return to the front again, drumming their fingers against the countertop. “That was smooth.”

When I showed them a picture of a shark once, they thought I’d made it up. [ he smiles ] Yeah I guess that would be pretty useful in your job. I think I’d use it just to make myself a bit taller. And fitter.

I’ll admit I thought plenty of stuff like that was made up when I was younger.

[ Peter just purses his lips, pouting a little ] I think they’d like being compared to sharks. [ he rubs his nose ] She doesn’t seem to mind it, though. If it does hurt, it doesn’t seem like it’s very much or for very long.

Probably, it sounds like something they’d be into. [ they nod ] That’s true.  And I guess I could handle some discomfort for powers like that. It’d make  my work so much easier. I’m a pretty solid actor, I could do some real damage like that.

He does not! [ Peter frowns at the criticism of Remus ] Well, it’s a lot of sitting. James and Sirius aren’t very good at sitting still for more than five minutes at a time, unless they’re asleep. [ he nods, wrinkling his nose ] Like having a sinus headache.

He kinda’ does. You know he kinda’ does. [ they nod ] That’s fair. They’re like sharks, they gotta’ keep moving or they die. [ their nose scrunches ] Ew, gross.

Oh, well, you know, she’s five. Or six? I can’t remember. I’m probably her least favorite babysitter out of the four of us but James and Sirius won’t sit down long enough for tea parties usually, so it’s mostly me and Remus. Yeah, it must, like, itch a little?

Oh come on, that can’t possibly be true. Lupin’s totally got a stick up his butt, he’s awkwardly serious every time I see him. Tea parties  are awesome, how could anyone not hang out through a tea party?  [ they nod ] That sounds so uncomfortable, doesn’t it? I think I’d hate that.
