Hades doesn’t really deal with the grief of the living. His domain is with the dead, after all, but John is his envoimeni and that means he shows up at his door after the twenty foretold minutes, two boxes of pizza balanced on his hand and arm. He knocks, as is polite, and then just lets himself in.

He knew John was in a bad way today. He’s been pretty adamant about setting out incense and a small offering for Hades every day at the same time, so when he didn’t feel that small brush of worship when it was supposed to come, he knew something had gone down with John. He doesn’t want to be one of those gods who hover over their worshippers, though, so he had waited it out. Besides, it’s just one day, who cares if he doesn’t get a stick of incense burned to his honour? He’s suffered greater transgressions.

“Hey, I got works and meat lover’s,” he says, eyes flicking over John behind his shades. He wonders if telling John that his father is fine and happy in the Fields of Asphodel would help. Probably not.

Hades is never listening to John ever again.

He didn't even know gods could get food poisoning but man he feels like Cerberus buried him in the backyard with the rest of his bones. He's having a better time of it than John, the mortal has been in the bathroom for ten minutes, but damn. Ugh. His stomach rolls and Hades debates summoning a minion to go for ginger ale and maybe some antacids.
