WHAT THE HECK I know for a fact I had an ask about how Maria and Galio met but it’s gone now I cry …… I shall answer anyway because it made me happy to see ue ue
so basically besties ……. Maria was an orphan that had lived an independent life for herself for as long as she could remember, and was veryyyy magically gifted. so basically she was girlbossing it up without any danger and the people of the village that she took up residence in ( near Nemu village ) were really cool and loved her and so … yeah they were all vibing
AND GALIO was a young traveler that never really planned to travel ??? he lived in a part of Levianta that housed a lot of people coming from Jamataikoku ( wink wonk so he has a mother with Jama blood that grew up in that same area and a father that’s half Asmodean because … vague Gammon reference even though I still don’t know if I want him to actually be Gammon yet u feel me ) and he liked it there but he just wanted to see … MORE of Levianta
so yeah when he’s like … 17 he just kinda travels around Levianta to see what it’s like outside his home and eventually winds up passing through the village Maria ( who is 16 ) lives in and he’s like “woah … pretty village …… WOAH … PRETTY VILLAGE GIRL ……” anddd yeah they def have a cute but subconscious love at first sight moment andddd Galio stays in that village longer than he expected
and so Maria kinda takes him into her home since he’s a traveler without one around himself ( and also she’s lonely </3 ) and they REALLY hit it off …… getting closer and closer until they for sure fall in love hehe … it’s very sweet 💕
once they’re 19 and 18 respectively is when they decide to marry in a very Adam and Eve way in the forest anddd they’re happy for about 2 seconds !!!!!! soon enough Maria’s pregnant with Adam and then ……….. everything gets bad !!!!!
^ to explain that, basically when she’s close to having Adam is when the senate comes to her ( as they’ve been watching her and others like her but mostly just her ) because she’s so magically gifted to the point where it’s kind of a rumor that a very powerful young witch lives in the south and they were like hmmmm … queen material 🤫
and yeah they’re like “ur queen now deal with it.” and take her away. she only let them because she made them promise to let Galio to come with her or else she wouldn’t go… as well as make sure they would NEVER come back
and yeah she wasn’t happy suddenly becoming a literal queen of a country but she felt that if she’d made it this far through life’s hardships… she could do this with her hubby and soon to be born baby by her side :’)
…….that didn’t happen as we all know BUT HEY it’s fine for a little bit… before Galio is murdered and Adam is traumatized before getting his memory wiped and the baby boy Maria was pregnant with when Galio died is the one yeeted into the river by the senate and Maria becomes broken and “Alice-ified” for good
