Gallery cruising in Yorkville
Best rainy afternoon ever
Spent today gallery cruising in Toronto's Yorkville shopping district. The shopping is high-end and so are the galleries. I visited, in order: Gallery Gevik at 12 Hazelton (www.gevik.com) which had beautiful moody landscapes by Rita Letendre, the bright and sunny Loch Gallery at 16 Hazelton (www.lochgallery.com) showing brilliantly coloured abstracts by Michael Forster and almost-abstract landscapes by Shannon Morphew, the long established Mira Godard Gallery (www.godardgallery.com)which will be programming David Milne in a couple of weeks, and the Ingram Gallery (www.ingramgallery.com), which has an exhibition space downstairs but has a treasure trove of gems up their almost circular staircase. A fun way to spend an otherwise dreary day. Paintings above by Michael Forster at Loch Gallery and Colin Fraser at Mira Godard Gallery
