The Master looked over, silently setting aside the journal he was filling out as he stood and placed his wrist against the Doctor’s forehead. “You’re pale,” he noted. “Why do you insist on overdoing it, Doctor? It won’t be possible to hide your illness from your employees and companions if you keep rushing round making it worse - what can I do? I know you don’t trust me, but surely I can handle some of the smaller things if you tell me what needs to be done.” Despite their long and difficult history, it pained him to see the Doctor like this - so frail and alone despite his friends.
The Doctor didn't know how long he had spent to work: passing phone call, update his own papers, reading many reports while linked to them over others previous reports for see the change...it was when he feeling the wrist against his forehand than he barely realized he doing too much.
“Am I?” He asked curiously. The Time Lord didn't feeling bad --- or at least, had managed to push behind how bad he can feel. Then, for had gratefully stopping everything he had doing, didn't even care what part of the day it's was, he managed a fragile smile to his question. “It's ---”
His mouth had been ready to lie to the mention of his illness. Why did he overdoing, reacted with harder work rather than rest? For didn't make his sickness present. It was how he can imagine himself carry on, without worried everyone --- such words of concern, from his friend, were familiar.
“It's my way for cope with....that.” He confessed quietly. “I don't want it to be seen, not by my colleague, certainly not by my companions....”Not by you --- it was unsaid words. “Maybe...can you help me with the reports? This is the simplest part; seeing how it evolved and what can be done for improve it”
