The wine industry is experiencing something of a revolution, with a recent rise in the popularity of prosecco our palates and tastes have been slowly shifting towards lighter hues with a fizzy texture. The Gallo Moscato wine is allowing the masses to experience this very on trend white wine which has a point of difference to prosecco – it’s sweeter and fruitier. The Moscato has taken off in America with hip-hop artists such as Kanye West and Drake even referencing the wine in their songs, as we have seen in the past with Cristal champagne, it’s sited as something aspirational and indulgent and worth spending money on.

Red wine has traditionally been thought of as more sophisticated than white because of the depth of the body and the variety of flavours and types on offer. With the introduction of the Gallo Moscato the wine lover can now enjoy a completely refined and varied taste all in one bottle of white.

  The Gallo Moscato is beautifully sweet and light with a slight fizz to it, making it the perfect summer beverage. It’s extremely easy to drink and is so fresh it cleanses the palate, completely refreshing the mouth and senses with each sip. Bursting with strong peach and citrus flavours with hints of pineapple and orange being evident, the Gallo Moscato is definitely one for the discerning white wine drinker. 

The variety of flavours contained within this light to medium bodied wine can be smelt and tasted in every drop. It has been compared to a dessert wine which does explain why it is so easy to drink but it really has so much more to offer and in my opinion should not be limited to drinking post-dinner as a treat. Priced at £6.79 it’s very reasonable and in my opinion is worth the same as those in higher price bracket.

It has so much to offer with its full and varied texture and taste but that's not to say that it can only be enjoyed on its own. The Gallo Moscato cools down a palate warmed by a spicy Mexican or Indian dish and compliments fish such as cod and pollock with some softly boiled and well-buttered potatoes or a chicken salad with lashings of mayonnaise.

  A warning should be printed on the side of the Gallo Moscato bottle; it is so refreshing and fruity it almost tastes like a soft drink, one bottle doesn’t seem enough especially if you’re sharing with friends on a summer’s day.
