review for poison! 5/5 stars. When we discuss mental health medical history it's always with the thought that "but we do so much better now," running through each scenario taught. When we discuss how we view mental illnesses & disorders now versus before, the present time is always viewed as a much better time to live in. We don't assume if you have a mental illness you must be lying about abuse. We don't just lock up women with the label of hysteria. But this book brings up the very viable position of, "we don't do those things anymore... that you know of, at least," and builds up a very plausible story of those things occurring now. It felt like a very well done modern take on the 1944 film "Gaslight," & I'm very happy I came across this book. It's very suspenseful & full of twists; I actually almost believed the husband at one point it's so well done! #booklr #bookstagram #books #reading #galtniederhoffer
