Urged to get this done already. My persona OCs have been given a new look.
Ziahra (left) is a nymph/muse, Galvanik (right) is a necromancer. Their positions are metaphorical were Ziahra is a persona of illustration and Nik rules over the subject of animation. Sounds unusual but hey, it may help an artist like me to get their craft organised. I’ve used these two for my portfolio class three years ago as character design examples. Two characters is enough to see contrast: light and dark, offensive and defensive ect.
Ziahra is a portmanteau of two names, Zia and Zara. Zia is Persian meaning “light”, Zahra is Arabic meaning “beautiful” or “bright, or Zara which is Hebrew/Russian meaning “Princess”. Hence the fused name says “beautiful light”.
Galvanik is also a portmanteau. The word “galvanise” means to stimulate muscles by use of direct current, obviously electricity; think of Dr. Frankenstein or defibrillators. Galvan is an Irish/Gaelic name meaning “brilliantly white” and because Galvanik has pale skin like a dead corpse.
And by the looks of them, they don’t look human...but they were...formerly.
I’m gonna do more art of these ocs as well as giving more info. about them at some other time.~
