Other than the fact that Amy Winehouse is one of my favorite artists, I really like the hidden treasures album and I think the cover is very representative of the content of the album with the dream like effect of the background. Graphically it is not that exciting but it uses the power of the portrait where her gaze is centered and from it the viewer’s eye creates hidden line that takes you to the title. 

I really like the layering concept of of all three covers: Billie Holiday, Disclosure and future Islands. there is a nice balance between photography and graphic effects. Billie Holiday’s cover follows the Z pattern with the strong use of red color whereas Disclosure uses symmetry and rule of thirds, and the future islands singles (the type) function as an anchor from which this floating character is hanging at the same time the beach is giving the effect that the character is floating. the cover follows the rule of thirdhand it feels very vintage but also futuristic! 

i like how the artist and the props fill up all the space and became a product that is sold! the title 99cents on the yellow circle is very successful as it mimics real price tags. although a bit irregular, the cover follows the Z pattern as well.
