Favorite Online Indie Games
Hello, all! This list will be about twenty games long so I’m putting them all under a read more! Each game will have a screenshot and a small description, as well as a link! All the games are free and will open up right in your browser, no need to download!
1. A House in California
This game is a really cute pixelated point and click story, there are four tasks you have to complete in order to calm a little boy down and send him off to bed. The first task is to catch fireflies and put them in the street lamp so the house won’t be so dark. It’s super simple and the ending is so cute!
2. A Mother in Festerwood
A Mother in Festerwood wants to keep her little boy safe from the woods around her house, you use your mouse to drag the mom around and keep the boy inside the circle where he will be safe until you feel he has grown enough to go outside the circle, where you cannot follow and protect him.
3. Clicking Bad
This game is essentially Cookie Clickers, but with meth. (A picture of my own progress and only a small part of the screen.) (I may have been playing this game for three days and counting.)
4. Coma
In Coma you play as a character named Pete, when you first walk outside you see that your friend Birdie (a bird) is locked in a cage and you let him out, he then tells you that your father has locked your sister in the basement and you must save her. It’s a sort of whimsical dream-like game with a really vague ending so you get to pick what you think happens to Pete.
5. Convey
You have 10 seconds to talk to 10 or so people and try to make them all happy! You get to choose what to say and you see your score at the end. It’s a short game, depending on how many times you replay it, of course.
6. Covetous
I’m warning you right now this one is CREEPY (epilepsy warning!!!). It’s a super simple pixel game, very quick and straightforward.
7. Choice of Romance
I love this game so so much. It’s basically a pick your own adventure game where you read and read and read and then pick a choice. You get to name your person and there are three suitors you can choose from (an older fat man with money, a younger man with no money but who writes poetry, and the king!).
8. Distance
A pixel click and point where you click through the characters days and at the end you pick one thing to say to the other. This game is about long distance relationships and how they may or may not work out.
9. Fear Less!
Absolutely one of my favorite games. You play as a girl who has a nightmare every night about death chasing her, you run through a forest and jump over mushrooms and gravestones and fight foxes and wolves and bears, all the while collecting coins to level up your health and your sword and how high you can jump. Simple game (until you run deep enough into the forest and then the ground spits fire and there are flying skulls!) only two controls (z to jump, x to pick the best time to, essentially, stab the animals)
10. I Wish I Were The Moon
Super cute, simple pixel game. There are five different endings you can find (and if you can’t find them scroll down to the comments, someone posted how you can get them all!)
11. Majesty of Colors
Very cute, five different endings (all listed in the comments!). You play as the sea monster in the bottom right corner and control that one tentacle, you get to pick whether to save the humans or kill them (of course to get all five endings it gets a bit more complicated than that, but you get what I’m saying).
12. No-one Has to Die
You are a visitor, you wander into a building and find security guards dead, you log into a computer chat . The computer warns that there is a fire, the yellow/brown man admits to have set the fire, one casualty is unavoidable at each level. Replay the game several times to get every ending and then you will unlock the (dun dun DUN) true ending!!!!
13. One and One Story
This one is so good, you expect a dark ending the entire time like in all these cute games with a boy and girl, but the ending is actually very cute and sweet. The game is good, not too easy and not too hard, just the right amount of challenging. You control both characters and switch between them using z. The very beginning shows you how to move and what keys to use, super helpful and it tells what you to in such a cute way.
14. Pretentious Game
You are a blue square, you apparently love pink square and would do anything for pink square. Simple and quick game, cute music.
15. Sweatshop
I’ll give you one guess on what this game is about. Sweatshops. You hire workers to make the clothes, you can upgrade the workers, all sorts of stuff. Tons of levels. Also, at the end of each level, you get a fact about sweatshops, and you can view all the facts under SWEATSTOP on the page and each fact will have a source.
16. Time Fcuk
No I did not spell that wrong. This is a little platform game, you can switch between platforms to get where you need to go. The blue in the picture is one platform, press a key and the blue is gone and only two little rooms are there (where the yellow is). Sort of creepy just because the person on the right side is you in the next room, sort of time travel stuff.
17. Wasabi
Super cute little game, you play as a person to catch fish and grow veggies in order to get your sushi shop to 3 stars! I played this little game all the way through and then some, super cute and fun, you control this person with the arrow keys and for some actions use the z and c keys as well!
18. Where Am I
Cute but frustrating! You are the little white square. That blue wall right there? Immediately disappears if you aren’t constantly hitting it. Theres a yellow wall inside it and a red and green one outside. It’s like trying to get out a maze while wearing a blindfold and the walls scream when you touch them.
19. ULTRA BUSINESS TYCOON III
A sort of choose your own adventure game? Warning for gross descriptions of trash, gore, blood, death. It’s crazy. But it’s good.
20. Unmanned
Weird game. Involves war and also racist themes. Sort of stressful to play, you have to pay attention to both screens. You get medals sometimes for doing stuff. It was just such a weird game I had to save it.
