Mario SunShine - Game Memory
It is official...June has arrived, marking the halfway point of the year. The part where some of us have not finished our new year resolutions and some of us has been blessed with new beginnings. I, on the other hand, is patently waiting to set up my PS4 and set up my account for Playstation Network~~
For the Month of June, I wanted to celebrate some of the memories, thoughts, and struggles on some games I have played or joined in to watch someone play~!
For the first one, It will be Super Mario Sunshine~!
Super Mario Sunshine (S.M.S) was developed by Nintendo and its a game that has stuck to my heart <3 Why? Because it was the first Mario game where it took place on a beach! .....Don’t judge me >..>
The main reason why I love this game so much is because it is timeless. Its been about 16 years and it is a game that can fit into the games 2018 can hold. Let’s look at this from a game design side of things:
There is a cool mechanic call “Introduce, Practice, Master”. When introduced to a new mechanic, like FLUDD’s tank, the player (which is you) will be given how to use it and some tricks to help you get through the game. When you are introduced to it, then you will practice the new mechanic to help flow naturally. After that, the game will help you master it by giving tasks to finish and achieve the Sun Sprites. Granted, every game does this mechanic and nothing really out there, but this also makes Mario SunShine stand through the tests of time.
A funny memory I have when playing this was I had to brush this giant creature’s mouth....in the deep black water...my biggest fear in video games...
I gathered up the courage I have because I thought it was going to be like the Eel from Mario 64 for Nintendo 64...
I floated down and then I see this...

The gif is a dramatic reenactment of me sitting on the floor, jumping up on my bed, crying, screaming WTF and ready to fight. So, I managed to get over the fear, but then I realized that my aim still sucked at the time and couldn’t git gud enough to beat it. Then again, there was a lot I did not do in the game lol
#Regrets
Maybe one day when I get an apartment, I will own a gamecube again, buy this game, and beat it. Do you guys have any memories from this game? What do you think about this game? Tell me about some of the memories you have with this ^^
Thank you and I hope you all have enjoyed this~!
Stay Strong everyone~!
