This was great fun to just play through without having to worry about physically exerting myself or any other nonsense. What an enjoyable experience. I hope to go back and snap ‘em all one day but for now we’re moving onward and into a blind playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time!

I’ve never played it before so I will be learning how to do everything first hand instead of translating prior knowledge to dance pad output! I’m in for a bumpy ride!

And then I died of exhaustion...

There’s a thing speedrunners do every now and then called the 12 Hour Challenge where the goal is to stream yourself learning a route for a speedrun category you have never done before and then aiming to complete a run during that time as well.

For my challenge I decided to try SM64 70 Star. I’m well-versed in 16-Star but this category is essentially 5 times as long!

I spent the first 6-hours trying to come up with a dancepad-safe route and then spent the next 6 trying to get a decent time, this is the result!

It’s DONE!!! This is the first time Splatoon has ever been beaten on a dance pad, probably any Wii U game for that matter considering how hard it is to set up. This is also one of the hardest challenges I have ever faced, I logged about 3-hours worth of attempts on the final boss and even when I eventually did win it took me over 20 minutes! That’s tiring.

I’m super glad to be done with Splatoon now, it was great fun but the challenge involved is way too intense for me to ever want to do it again, haha.

Since this is the first year since starting GameStomp I wanted to go back to its roots which is by playing the graphically updated version of Super Mario Bros. 3 in Super Mario All-Stars on SNES.

Over the last year the stream has undergone many graphical updates and I have gotten a lot better at the games I originally found borderline impossible, it’s been so great having so many of you along for the ride and now that I have hit 1000 followers on twitch I think things are only going to get better from here.

Oh man, what an event! With a 10-hour time limit I managed to get through all 10 challenges in 8-hours and 27-minutes!

First of all, I’d like to thank each and every one of you that stopped by, there were over a hundred of you there at any one time and all of the hard work with setting this event up and practicing in the week leading up to it really paid off, I can’t thank you all enough!

Finally, a little stream easter egg I never told anyone about is that if enough people follow me on twitch within a certain frame of time while broadcasting the little Boo at the bottom of the screen actually grows bigger, here’s a little Time Lapse Video showing it off :)

Cave Story - De-FEET-ed! [ YouTube Playlist | YouTube Channel ]

hrrnnhRNGHRNHRHR!!! This game! The end of this game features four consecutive boss fights without any healing items or save points in between, from start to end it took me about 10-minutes but losing to one meant doing it all over again!

After a solid hour of attempting the boss rush I finally did it! For the record, this has been the hardest to any of the games I’ve stomped so far. Cave Story punishes you for your mistakes by weakening your guns when you take hits which is almost crippling in this control scheme. I actually crashed after lunch and ended up sleeping for another 2 hours, that’s how exhausting this was!

Great game… Never again, hahaha
