Super Genesis II Turbo Ep. 60 - Remember the Turbo
In this episode, GaminTank and Dark Morris discuss Nintendo's newest console and reminisce about older episodes of Super Genesis II Turbo.
My thoughts on the episode:
Holy crap! I’d never thing I’d stick with doing a podcast for 60 weeks. It sounds cliche, but it seemed like yesterday that my co-host Dark Morris and I were struggling with a podcast name while playing Black Ops II... before our first recording. If our podcast had seasons, like a TV show, I believe this would be the generic season finale because we just did what we wanted for our third segment and talked about our own show. Narcissistic? Maybe, but it’s hard to commit to something like a once a week recording, without bragging a little bit. Am I right? So this was our proper reflection of our show and it really takes the listener to what we would discuss after the show ends.
To anyone who does read this and follows the show, thank you. From an outsider’s perspective, it’s just two guys talking about video games and making jokes but it feels bigger than that. Our fan base is low, which would eventually discourage some people, but it’s hard to not say that I look forward to each recording.
Putting the episode together, on the other hand, is a huge test of patience. This podcast is put together with a laptop and Adobe Premiere and holy hell, did this episode take a long time to export. It was estimated around 6 GB, which eventually ended up being almost 700 MB. I have no clue how that was so inaccurate, but that was a fun eye-opener. To give an idea of how “low end” my set up is, it took almost an hour and a half to export the video part. This is because the piece I have that records the other hosts is 1.3 GBs so it’s a big file to mess with. It’s never usually like this, but this was almost a three hour episode.
I’m at the point to where I’m rambling now, so I’ll end it with this. I owe a lot to making videos and recording/editing/posting this show. It’s helped me become a more expressive person, even if it’s not as noticeable on the show because I sound monotone most of the time. I am grateful for all of our past special guests, whether they had to help carry the show or hardly said a word, and I look forward to other milestones reached by Super Genesis II Turbo!
