It’s gibberish, and a mash-up of Gaeilge and Gàidhlig. It doesn’t actually mean anything in either language, but if you put it into Google Translate you get “The Irish are to live,” for what that’s worth.

Imagine Remus finding Virgil's old hoodie and keeping it bc it's warm and reminds him of Virgil (and ofc Virgil loves seeing his cute cuddlefish wearing his clothes)

Remus has a problem with proper apparel. I can see pre aa Virge throwing it at him every time he appeared in the buff to cover up. Remus being Remus made sure to show up in the nude more often just to get his crush's hoodie. And then Virge got the purple patchwork hoodie and moved to join the others and Remus kept the old one and cuddled it nightly. And then DWIT happened and they reconnected and then Remus let it slip that he still has that hoodie cuz he missed Virge and cue a flustered emo. And then Remus rambled on about how he really likes it and how it smells and that he really really likes Virge but he didn't want to scare him away. And then Virge shut him up with a kiss, admitted his feelings, and made Remus his boyfriend.

Remus is a happy duke with a salty emo to snuggle so he actually gets to wear the hoodie around. Virgil loves seeing it on him, especially when he's only wearing a pair of sweatpants with it after a nap with his hair all messy and he's all sleepy and cute. Emo boy's heart just swells at the sight.

Dukexiety headcanon: early on in their relationship Remus tried to make "traditionally" cute gifts, but his brand of creativity kept seeping through. He tried to make a classic teddy bear, but it suddenly had twice as many limbs and fangs and a sinister grin and was missing an eye and had stuffing leaking out. He made a Valentine's love heart but it turned into an anatomically correct heart that beat and spurted blood out the arteries. He made a bouquet of roses but their thorns grew and poked through the wrapping paper and the petals withered like they'd been caught in a fire.

He kept all these "failures" in a pile in his room and one day Virgil went over to his room and saw them all. He asked what they were for and Remus admitted what he'd been doing. Virgil looks through the pile and to Remus's surprise, he loves all the creepy creations! After that Remus doesn't hide his weird presents anymore and Virgil appreciates every one

Virge getting those gifts all at once? He'd drag Remus to his room with all the stuff so they can put everything in some special places. Remus gets super giddy because Virge likes them

dukexiety headcanon: virgil has a lot of nightmares, so remus makes him a little octopus night light to keep him safe, and even though virgil knows the night light itself can't do anything, it's just nice to know that remus is there for him, and the thought itself lessens his nightmares (or vice versa)

I adore the head canon but if I may, instead of just a nightlight, it a stuffed animal octopus with built in lights that are green and purple in the tentacles that glow when you squeeze the ends. And if he cries and tears hit it, poof Remus is there instead to make him feel better.

Virge would cuddle the shit out of that thing but shhhh he's supposed to be tough. He's definitely had to stitch it back together from over cuddling.

Vice versa? Remus having nightmares and Virgil giving him a nightlight? He'd totally go for something simple like a Halloween candelabra with purple lights. And if Remus needs it, he can say "sing" and the sweetest spoopy music fills his room and helps him through the night

Virgil and Remus doing matching halloween costumes each year! Be they meant to be romantic ones or not. (Pirate and merman, prince and knight, butcher and cow, etc.) I could also see them getting a laugh out of trying on some of the "sexy x" costumes. (though depending on which one they might just 😍 instead ashdfks)

I have a lot of feelings about Halloween and costumes so be prepared for some rambling.

I can totally see them going as the Adamses one year, like Virgil is Morticia and Remus is Gomez because that's what everyone expects and they stay in character, and then the next year they switch and the others are completely stunned when they stay in character again. It works for Virge because it scares the others to see him going full on Gomez and he lives for the scares

Also consider sexy lion tamer Virgil (we're talking Britney bitch, he got bribed) and sexy lion Remus (he makes sure his costume looks like Scar or Kovu so he can ruin Roman's night)

Or the couple from Avenged Sevenfold's a Little Piece of Heaven video (look up with extreme caution)

Or (pre-dating/just friends) Nny and Devi from JTHM and I Feel Sick (again look up at your own risk)

Or Beast Boy and Raven they get Janus to dress up as Terra if this is an anxceitmus scenario, platonic or otherwise and Remus spends the entire night freaking out because Virge has legs!! Why is he the one covered up!!?!?

Sexy nurse and doctor? Well Remus owns that look and Virgil goes as a plague doctor. They still make it work

Remus dresses as Roman and Virge dresses as Janus. Spot on impressions. Lots of making out. Pure chaos. Who's more humiliated? Roman the blushy prince getting mocked? Janus who may or may not want that kind of thing? Virgil who has opinions about Jay? Or Remus, who cannot stand being like Roman? It's Patton, who doesn't know who's who and keeps mixing everyone up.

Hc: Remus is a very tactile person and he likes showing off how strong he is, so at random points in the day, he'll just pick Virgil up with no warning and hold him/carry him for a while. The first few times it happened Virgil was shocked and indignant and made a fuss, now though he's so used to it that he can get picked up in the middle of a conversation with someone else and he won't even stop his sentence.

I tend to hc that Virgil loathes being picked up, like it creates more uncertainty/stuff to worry about.

On that note, Remus would 100% be the only one who can get away with that without getting accidentally kicked by a flailing emo
