A little comfort Baptistin in between more important stuff. The yellow void was a little too bland so I thought I'd add some words and whats more Baptistin than "Just Shoot Me"? (if anyone says "silence because he has no lines" Ill kill you fr)

Anime #2
Death Note and Gankutsuo: I didn't make it through the first episode of either of these before I knew they were "Shut Up And Take My Money!" titles.
Death Note appears to be a psychological thriller that's also an homage to early European cinema, especially French film noir and German Expressionism, as well as a mediation on vigilantes complete with observations from an amoral daemon whose appearance is based on The Man Who Laughs, the visual inspiration for the Joker. Sign me up. I love the moral complexity of the original crime noir, before it devolved to "Sam Spade in the rain with a dame." My husband will find this interesting as well, so I'll save the rest of the series for the DVD.
Gankutsuo is The Count of Monte Cristo -- in space! -- classical music, AND Art Nouveau animation! What's not to like? I'm not saying that's my "Greatest Hits" list, but it's pretty close. My husband and I are both huge fans of Art Nouveau. I haven't seen anyone attempt Art Nouveau animation since Frederick Bech, and never with CGI. The trailer was enough to sell me. This is definitely worth buying the boxset and watching on the TV screen.
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood - this is the fifth recent anime I've tried, and the first one I didn't like right off the bat. The first episode didn't tell me who the characters were or why I should care for them. "Child soldiers exploited by bad guys" isn't an easy sell, even when they are badass child soldiers. The second episode at least gave an origin story, so now it's "child soldier consumed by guilt exploited by bad guys", but really, isn't that every child soldier? I'm going to need more than appreciation and pity to bond with these guys.
I don't know if I should continue with that one or try something else. I'll think about it.
If y'all like Eye Candy Animes,
May I suggest The Count Of Monte Cristo: Gankutsuou.
Verrrry good but not for kids. 👍
It's just sad to see this gorgeous anime not have a fandom, crazy underrated.
Oh and yes the whole entire anime was animated like this!
