Heyyyy
I found your tumblr page from Talking Bird on AO3 and I just had to reach out. I love that fic so much it’s unreal. It’s one of, if not the most original, beautiful, and well written story I’ve ever read on AO3. I’m feeling shy to admit this but… legitimately cried over In Which Quills Are Shed.
You’re one of the few authors who can really capture Arthur so authentically. His mannerisms, inner turmoils, and actions, they all feel so real. Not to mention the way you build the setting, the plot, and the drama, everything weaves together so seamlessly. Truly, it’s almost as if one can step into the story as they’re reading it. The slow burn relationship feels organic too.
I read your other stories too, you know. Every single one of them. All the ones set in Talking Bird series, and the ones not. My goodness.
What truly amazes me is the way you write. Your writings are so poetic, so devastating, and you just wring every ounce of emotion from a scene. You don’t just tug at heartstrings but unravel them entirely. Your words reach into the soul and lingers.
Look, I don’t want to pressure you into anything, so no worries, really. But I was just wondering if you’re going to pick up Talking Bird? Again, no pressure. Just saying, if you ever upload any story to your AO3 account or continue Talking Bird, I will be ravishing them at unhealthy speeds. I’m literally scavenging your tumblr page for crumbs because… Well, I’ve read everything. Multiple times.
I am extremely late to answering this. I'm deeply sorry for that-- but please know that I have been revisiting this inbox message for some time now with extreme gratitude.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my work and leave this message. I find it hard to put into words how happy it makes me that you've enjoyed my stuff as much as you have, and that you feel that my portrayal of arthur comes across well. Seriously-- thank you thank you, one million times thank you. It means a lot to me. ;__;
It's... a little hard to say whether I'll pick up Talking Bird, or writing in general. A couple things in my life have shifted since I've started writing, some of which are still very much in flux, and creative ventures have taken a backseat for the time being. That said, I still do hold Lee and Arthur's storyline in a very dedicated slot of my brain, and there are still things about them that I would like to put on paper, when I'm in a place to jot them down. So I will have to leave you with that most unsatisfactory of answers: maybe. I hope so, someday soon.
But in the meantime, I do have scraps of things in my drafts that I've been thinking of polishing up, or uploading in an incomplete state. These things are. Uh. They are mostly smut.
Again though, I want to thank you for the kind words you've given me in your message. I'm touched, and humbled, that my writing has had that kid of effect. Thanks ganougak, wherever you are, and hope that you're doing well. 💖
